Easter is a time of renewal, light, and hope.

A time to pause, reflect, and appreciate the people around us. A time when simple moments — togetherness, kindness, and care — matter the most.

On this special day, we would like to wish our partners, friends, supporters, and communities a peaceful and joyful Easter.

May your homes be filled with warmth,
your hearts with hope,
and your days with light and new beginnings.

Thank you for being part of our journey and for everything you do.

Happy Easter from HUCUS 🕊️

Aid keeps moving — because the war has not stopped.

As Russia’s war against Ukraine continues, hospitals remain under pressure, frontline medics work in extreme conditions, and civilian communities face ongoing disruption of essential services.

In response to these realities, HUCUS has coordinated another shipment of humanitarian aid to Ukraine together with our long-standing partners Stand With Ukraine Minnesota and Ukrainian community in Minnesota, whose commitment has remained unwavering.

War creates constant urgency. Supplies are used daily. Stocks must be replenished. Systems must be supported — not once, but continuously.

That is why we focus on consistency. Reliable logistics. Trusted partnerships. Timely delivery.

Every container sent is a practical response to the realities of war — ensuring that medical professionals and emergency responders have the tools they need to continue saving lives.

The war continues.
So must the support.

If you believe humanitarian aid should not pause while conflict persists — join us.

Today marks four years since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

Four years of resilience. Four years of loss. Four years of courage.

Since February 24, 2022, Ukraine has endured relentless attacks on its cities, its infrastructure, its hospitals, and its people. Russia took thousands of lives of soldiers, civilians and children. Yet despite destruction and uncertainty, Ukrainians continue to stand, rebuild, protect one another, and move forward.

For HUCUS, these four years have meant responsibility — to act quickly, deliver reliably, and support those working on the frontlines of healthcare and humanitarian response. Every shipment, every partnership, every coordinated delivery has been driven by one purpose: to ensure that lifesaving support reaches those who need it most.

We have witnessed extraordinary strength — from doctors operating under air-raid sirens, to volunteers loading aid late into the night, to communities across the United States standing consistently with Ukraine.

Today, we remember the lives lost.
We honor the resilience of the Ukrainian people. And we reaffirm our commitment to continued, reliable humanitarian support.

Four years later — Ukraine stands.
And so do we.

Continuing the mission, HUCUS Foundation has recently delivered the next shipment of humanitarian medical aid to Ukraine, ensuring ongoing support for frontline hospitals and medical teams during the ongoing russian war against Ukraine.

This delivery included 4 containers with over 160 pallets of essential medical supplies, made possible through the continued partnership with Ukrainian Community in Minnesota , Mykola Sarazhynskyi, and .

The cargo is already being distributed by Volonterska Rodyna and PO „Effective Life” to hospitals closest to the frontline, where doctors and military medics urgently need reliable access to supplies to save lives every day.

This shipment once again reflects the strength and long-term commitment of the Ukrainian community in Minnesota and the StandWithUkraineMN initiative, led by Mykola Sarazhynskyi, whose support for Ukrainian healthcare has remained consistent since 2014.

We remain committed to reliable, timely humanitarian delivery and long-term support for Ukraine.

Sincere thanks to everyone involved — and special appreciation to our logistics partners and DP World.

At the beginning of the year, we would like to share one of our recent deliveries. HUCUS Foundation has recently completed the delivery of 1,800 pointe shoes and 1,300 flat ballet shoes to major theaters and ballet schools across Ukraine — the donation valued at over $250,000 USD.

This large-scale initiative became possible through the inspiring project “Ballet Shoes for Ukraine,” organized by volunteers Alexei and Tatiana Ratmansky, Denys Drozdyuk, and Antonina Skobina, and supported by dozens of world-renowned ballet companies and individual dancers who chose to stand with Ukrainian culture during wartime.

At HUCUS, we focus on humanitarian logistics — ensuring that critical aid reaches Ukraine safely and reliably. This project reflects the diversity of our work. Our logistics team coordinated transportation from the United States to Ukraine and further distribution across five cities and eight institutions.

Even amid destruction, Ukrainian artists continue to rehearse, teach, and perform under air-raid sirens. Schools keep children connected to discipline, beauty, and hope. Delivering ballet shoes is a reminder that culture endures, even in the darkest times.

The delivery reached leading institutions in Kyiv, Lviv, Odesa, Dnipro, and Kharkiv, including:
National Academic Opera and Ballet Theater of Ukraine (Kyiv)Національна опера України імені Т. Г. Шевченка
Kyiv Municipal Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet Київська опера
Kyiv State Professional Choreographic College
Kyiv Modern-Ballet KYIV MODERN-BALLET Theatre
Lviv National Opera Львівська Національна Опера / Lviv National Opera
Odesa National Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre Одеська Національна Опера / Odesa National Opera
Dnipro Academic Opera and Ballet Theater Дніпровський академічний театр опери та балету
Kharkiv National Academic Opera and Ballet Theater ХНАТОБ / СХІД OPERA

Theaters and schools shared their gratitude, noting that these shoes are essential for daily rehearsals, premieres, tours, and for sustaining the life of Ukrainian ballet during wartime.

We extend heartfelt thanks to the ballet companies that contributed, including New York City Ballet, American Ballet Theatre, The Juilliard School, Philadelphia Ballet, Boston Ballet, Houston Ballet, Joffrey Ballet, Pacific Northwest Ballet, Ballet West, Ballet Hispánico, Brooklyn Ballet, Connecticut Ballet, and many others.

Special appreciation goes to individual dancers — Wendy Whelan, Christina Shevchenko, Skylar Brandt, Oksana Maslova, Andrii Ishchuk, Aaron Bell, Virginia Lensi, and others — whose generosity became a powerful gesture of solidarity.

We are also deeply grateful to:

Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral of St. Volodymyr in Manhattan for providing storage space
The Consulate General of Ukraine in New York and The Ukrainian Institute of America for ongoing support
All volunteers, donors, and partners who contributed to this cultural mission

HUCUS Foundation remains committed to supporting Ukraine also by helping preserve the cultural strength and spirit of its people.

As this year comes to a close, we pause to reflect on what truly matters.

This year was filled with challenges, urgency, and responsibility — but also with unity, humanity, and action. Together with our partners, donors, volunteers, and friends, HUCUS Foundation continued to deliver critical humanitarian aid, support communities in need, and ensure that help reached Ukraine when and where it mattered most.

Every delivery, every partnership, every act of trust moved us forward. We are deeply grateful to everyone who stood with us — from the first day to the last day of this year.

As we step into the New Year, we remain committed to our mission: to deliver with purpose, act with humanity, and stand for unity — especially in times that demand strength and compassion.

Wishing peace, resilience, and hope in the year ahead.

Happy New Year from all of us at HUCUS Foundation❤️

We are pleased to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Ukrainian Research Institute at Harvard University (HURI) and the HUCUS Foundation.

HURI is a unique academic institution in the United States, founded by the Ukrainian-American community more than fifty years ago as an essential center for scholars and the broader public. It offers resources, courses, and publications that encompass Ukrainian history, literature, the arts, and contemporary affairs.

One of the Institute’s key areas of work is the publication of books about Ukraine and, more recently, English translations of Ukrainian literature, with the goal of spreading knowledge about Ukraine in accessible formats to a wide readership.

The HUCUS Foundation is joining the coalition supporting the Institute’s work and calls on all interested organizations, foundations, and businesses to support today what our community created over fifty years ago. At this critical moment, it is vitally important to deliver academically verified information about Ukraine to broad audiences around the world. The strength of the Ukrainian word lies in its truth; our task is to bring that truth to the world together.

Jointly with the Institute and its publishing program under the leadership of Dr. Kotsyuba, we have already begun our collaborative work on publishing Sofia Andrukhovych’s Felix Austria and launching the Ukrainian Book Challenge campaign. Individuals, companies, institutions, families, and entire communities are invited to take part.

We welcome others to contact the Institute to explore potential venues of cooperation and ways to support this important mission.

Join us! Support HURI!

Always with you,

HUCUS Foundation
