Learning to infuse is about more than building a skill. It’s about gaining confidence, independence, and greater control over your bleeding disorder. Last week, we hosted an infusion training to help patients and families in our community take that important step.

By building the knowledge and skills to manage infusions and administer their own treatment, patients and caregivers can gain greater confidence in managing their condition and living fuller, more active lives on their own terms. We recently joined the American Society of Hematology and more than 50 organizations in urging the CDC to restore the Division of Blood Disorders & Public Health Genomics to full operational capacity.

Whether you are learning to infuse for the first time or looking to perfect your technique, join us for our Infusion Training and Dinner this Thursday, October 15, at 6:30 PM.

An experienced HTC nurse will provide hands-on instruction on infusion and injection, including vein identification, equipment, handwashing, and maintaining a clean infusion area. Patients of all ages, parents, guardians, and caregivers are invited. The program will be held at our office in Manhattan, and dinner will be provided. Sign up below.

Earlier this year, 12-year-old Sam Rosen had an idea: he wanted to use his talent as a performer to raise money and awareness for the bleeding disorders community.

In September, that vision came to life when Sam hosted Together for Tomorrow, an incredible afternoon of music, connection, and hope benefiting NYCHC. Featuring 18 talented performers and 16 songs, the event brought people together while shining a light on what it means to live with hemophilia and the importance of knowing you are never alone.

We are so grateful to Sam for putting his heart into every part of the day. From sharing his own story, to organizing and hosting the event, to taking the stage himself, Sam showed just how much one person can do to make a difference.

Thanks to Sam, the performers, Chelsea Table + Stage, and everyone who attended and supported the event, Together for Tomorrow raised nearly $5,000 for NYCHC. Thank you, Sam, for using your voice, talent, and passion to bring our community together and make an impact!

El pasado fin de semana celebramos juntos Unidos por la Sangre.

Tuvimos el honor de contar con Dolly Arroyo, trabajadora social del Centro de Hemofilia de Montefiore quien nos compartió una sesión sobre la importancia del autocuidado. Mónica Díaz nos visitó de Puerto Rico para platicarnos sobre HFA. Aprendimos técnicas de estiramiento y vendaje con Dr. Zolotnitsky, entre otras actividades.

Los niños y adolescentes salieron al Liberty Science Center, también disfrutaron de un show de ciencia y decoraron galletas. Mily, Omar y Harry Cepeda fueron los DJs del evento y también tuvimos una presentación de mariachis. Felices de haber conocido nuevas familias y seguir creciendo como comunidad!
