The environmental, economic and social crises we face aren’t isolated. They’re deeply connected. And too often, we’re left reacting or feeling trapped, but we can rebuild with purpose.

To create resilient, thriving futures, we need economic models rooted in justice, care and faith-based guidance; models that draw on the motivational power and the holistic, integrated frameworks of our Islamic values.

💭 What does our world and economy look like if we recenter it to people, place, and purpose - not profit?

Swipe through to dive deeper into Islamic economics ⏩

In this new series, we explore a vision of community-centered Islamic economics — one that honors the rights of all creation and uplifts us toward greater spiritual and material well-being. 📌check out part 1, pinned on our page.

💬 Tell us what you think: Where can we all begin? Share your ideas or small actions you take, so we can inspire each other.

Senegal produces just .01% of global carbon emissions, yet faces severe droughts and mass displacement fuelled by greedy nations.

⚠️This is climate colonialism: those least responsible are suffering the most, while wealthy nations and corporations push fossil fuel ‘development’ onto vulnerable communities.

But here’s what’s missing in these conversations: Islam ☪️

Senegal is a Muslim-majority nation. Islam shapes its daily life, governance, and culture. Yet when it comes to climate policy, Islamic ethics are absent. This erases a powerful framework that could reshape climate responses around justice, dignity, and accountability. 💔

Why are these models missing from global climate discourse? And what would change if Muslims reclaimed their ethical leadership in this space?

This isn’t just about climate. It’s about sovereignty, ethics, and the future of Muslim communities at the frontlines of the climate crisis.

The world needs Muslim voices in climate justice ✊. Let’s put them back at the center. Share your thoughts with us in the comments.

Feeling the autumnal change in the air, ready to embrace your own?

No matter what’s on your plate this season, center yourself with Faithfully Sustainable as we take you on our second dhikr walk of the year.

Join us on Nov 15, 2035 in Central Park for an intimate event that connects us to the Islamic practice of dhikr (remembrance of Allah), while immersing ourselves in nature and tuning in to the signs inside and out.

Whether dhikr is part of your daily grind, or this is your first time hearing about dhikr, our welcoming guest facilitator Malika Ali (.alibomaye) will guide you through it in communal practice, uniquely combining breathwork and movement for a reinvigorating mind-body-spirit experience.

The event will last approximately 2 hours. As we will be on the move, please arrive at our designated meetup point on time at 10:45 AM.

Tickets are donation-based, available through the link in bio. Space is limited. Book your spot today!

Can we save our soil? 🌿

Soil is alive; full of microbes, roots and insects that sustain what we eat. But human activity, monocropping, deforestation and chemicals, are turning fertile land into desert. And our soil is eroding faster than it can regenerate.

Already food prices are rising, harvests shrinking, and communities in the Global South are being displaced. But there are solutions, like regenerative farming 🌾 and controlled watering 💧to bring soil back to life.

As muslims, we are khalifah (stewards) of the Earth, we must do what we can to protect communities, revive the earth, and restore wasatiyyah (moderation) and balance (mizan)

This post is meant to teach and inspire action. Save it as a reminder and share it to spread awareness, so that together we can revive the soil and honor the amanah Allah entrusted to us. 🤲🏾

Do you know what’s in your food? And how it impacts your health? 🍅🥕🥔

Taking care to learn what we eat and where it comes from can help us not only protect ourselves, but the world around us too. Industrial farming has many consequences to both human and environmental health:

⚠️ Fossil fuel emissions
⚠️ Chemical pollution
⚠️ Pesticide residue

Explore the dirty dozen and clean fifteen food list by swiping through.

Help to protect the amana of your health and those you love, repost and share this post. May it be counted as a sadaqa jariyah for you for every person you teach and help protect against these toxic chemicals, ameen.

For years, we’ve rallied around one number: “keep warming below 1.5°C.” But what happens when that target becomes the only way we define the crisis?

It delays action (“we’re not there yet”) and fuels despair (“we’ve already passed it”). Meanwhile, floods, fires, food insecurity, and displacement are already devastating lives — especially among the most vulnerable.

Islam offers another way forward. 🌱
✨ The process matters as much as the result.
✨ Stewardship (khilafah) is a sacred trust (amanah).
✨ Justice means protecting the most impacted — now, not only in the future.
✨ Even the smallest acts — planting a seed, conserving water, protecting life — are acts of worship.

We may pass 1.5°C. We may not reverse every harm. But in an Islamic framework, our duty is never cancelled.

Hope is not passive. It’s an active, lived commitment to justice. 💚

Save & share this if you believe our Ummah needs to lead with faith-based solutions. 🌍

What does justice for the Earth look like in Islam? 🌍

Rooted in divine guidance, Al-Mizan is a call for Muslims to uphold environmental justice with mercy, action, and hope, for the Earth, for the vulnerable, and for the generations to come.

Islam doesn’t separate worship from action. Our collective responsibility as stewards is not only spiritual, it’s structural.

Let’s consider what rain can teach us about our purpose on Earth as worshippers of Allah. With its life-sustaining properties, water serves as one of the most beautiful signs of the Divine.

Muslims should be proud that their faith holds a unique worldview that is substantial, timeless and holistic.

🌱 Secular environmental frameworks focus on conserving that which is limited.
🌱 In Islam, conservation has more to do with honoring a Divine bounty.

Swipe through to discover how we can honor this Divine gift and the trust that Allah has given us to establish goodness, peace, and justice for all His creation.

Today we want to share a reminder about animals and their rights in Islam.

"A good deed done to an animal is as meritorious as a good deed done to a human being, while an act of cruelty to an animal is as bad as an act of cruelty to a human being.”
(Mishkat al-Masabih; Book 6; Chapter 7, 8:178.)

Let's reflect on our choices, especially in how we think about halal meat and the animals who provide sustenance for us. 🌱 As part of the Ummah, we should remind ourselves to think closely about the label beyond 'halal'.

Together, we can cultivate a healthier Earth that honors our faith, reminds us of our responsibility and supports our communities across the world 💚

Follow the community and be part of our growing movement for environmental stewardship and ethical economics
