Shah Foundation Blood Drive Successfully Completed ❤️🩸

Today, the Shah Foundation successfully hosted its blood drive. Our heartfelt gratitude and love go out to all the volunteers, donors, and supporters who participated in this life-saving initiative.

A Drop of Blood, A Life Saved 🩸

James Christopher Harrison, an Australian, single-handedly saved the lives of 2 million children.

Many people wish to help others, but when it comes to philanthropy, they often consider their own resources. James Harrison was different. He did not worry about his financial situation or limitations. He gave what he had—his blood—and stood beside those in need.

What did he have to give?
Practically nothing, yet everything. He donated blood. His name is recorded in the Guinness Book of Records, but his only goal was to save a life.

According to Wikipedia, at age 81, he had donated blood 1,173 times. Due to Australia’s age limit for donors, this was his final donation.

In developed countries, voluntary blood donation is often a matter of social responsibility. In developing countries, however, this culture is still emerging. Voluntary donors are few, and often, when blood is needed, acquaintances provide it. Fear of donation also keeps many from volunteering.

Blood donation is not only life-saving for others but also beneficial for the donor:
• Stimulates the bone marrow to produce new blood cells
• Can be done every four months
• Donating three times a year boosts red blood cell vitality
• Blood levels return to normal within 48 hours
• Regular donation reduces the risk of heart disease and certain cancers

Blood donation is critical for patients in accidents, surgeries, childbirth, cancer treatments, and conditions like thalassemia.

With this in mind, the Shah Foundation is organizing a Blood Donation Drive:
🗓 Date: Friday, August 15, 2025
🕜 Time: 1:30 PM – 7:30 PM
📍 Location: Navanna Party Hall, Jackson Heights, NY

Eligibility:
• Age 18–45
• Minimum weight: 48 kg for men, 45 kg for women
• Physically healthy

Eligibility:
• Age 18–45
• Minimum weight: 48 kg for men, 45 kg for women
• Physically healthy
