Today the Latse Project celebrated Tibetan Calligraphy Day at Columbia University. Special guest master calligrapher Gen Jamyang Dorjee la and Latse's Gen Pema Bhum wrote countless works for enthusiastic students and friends from the NYC community.

Happy Tibetan Calligraphy Day! Established in 2017 by calligraphy associations in Tibet, this special day on 4-30 (4 for the number of vowels in the Tibetan alphabet, and 30 for the number of letters) celebrates the beauty and breadth of Tibetan calligraphic writing and art. It is commemorated widely across Tibet and in Tibetan communities worldwide.

This year, The Latse Project has been invited to Columbia University for a special program with pop-up exhibit and live calligraphy demonstrations with master calligrapher Jamyang Dorjee Chakrishar and Latse's own Pema Bhum.
