ཉེ་འཆར་ལྕམ་སྐུ་ཌ་ཡ་ན་སྨུག་པོ་མཆོག་སྐུ་གཤེགས་པའི་ཡིད་སྐྱོའི་གནས་ཚུལ་ཐོས་པས་ངེད་ཅག་ལ་སྐྱོ་སྣང་ཧ་ཅང་ཟབ་མོ་བྱུང་། ལྕམ་སྐུ་ཌ་ཡ་ན་སྨུག་པོ་མཆོག་ནི་ཆོས་རྒྱམ་དྲུང་པ་རིན་པོ་ཆེའི་སྐུ་ཟླ་ཡིན་ཞིང་། ཁོང་གིས་ལ་རྩེ་ལ་ཁོང་གི་རང་རྣམ་”འབྲུག་སྒྲ། ཆོས་རྒྱམ་དྲུང་པ་མཉམ་དུ་བསྐྱལ་བའི་ངའི་མི་ཚེ།” ཞེས་པ་དེ་ང་ཚོའི་འགྱུར་༡༠༨ ལས་འཆར་གྱི་ཆ་ཤས་སུ་བོད་ཡིག་ཏུ་བསྒྱུར་ཆོག་པའི་བཀའ་ཁྲོལ་གནང་ཡོད། མཁས་དབང་པདྨ་ཚེ་དབང་ཤཱསྟྲིས་བསྒྱུར་བ་དང་ ༢༠༢༠ ལོར་དཔར་སྐྲུན་བྱས་པའི་འབྲུག་སྒྲ་ནི་ད་ལྟའི་བར་དུ་ང་ཚོའི་དཔེ་དེབ་གྲགས་ཆེ་ཤོས་དེ་ཆགས་ཡོད། ང་ཚོས་ལྕམ་སྐུ་ཌ་ཡ་ན་མཆོག་གི་ནང་མི་དང་གྲོགས་པོ་ཚོར་སེམས་གསོ་ཞུ་བ་དང་། བདག་ཅག་གི་རྣམ་དཀར་དགེ་བའི་ལས་བཟང་དེ་དག་དམ་པ་ཁོང་གི་བཞེད་དོན་ལྷུན་གྲུབ་ཡོང་བར་བསྔོ་བའོ།

It was with profound sadness that we learned of the recent passing of Lady Diana Mukpo. Lady Diana, who was the wife and widow of Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche, graciously permitted Latse to translate her autobiography, Dragon Thunder: My Life with Chögyam Trungpa, into Tibetan as part of our 108 Translations Project. Translated by the esteemed Pema Tsewang Shastri and published in 2020, Dragon Thunder remains one of our most popular books.

We wish the family and friends of Lady Diana comfort, and we dedicate our virtuous deeds to fulfilling her wishes.

Today is Tibetan Calligraphy Day!

This year, the Latse Project teamed up with Indiana University for Yigé: Tibetan Calligraphy Day 2025, a special 3-day event in the beautiful city of Bloomington. Held on campus and at the Tibetan Mongolian Buddhist Cultural Center, Yigé featured exhibits, talks, and live demos. Special guests included master calligrapher Jamyang Dorjee Chakrishar, the Latse Project’s Pema Bhum, conservator Jim Canary of Lilly Library, Ven. Tenpa from TMBCC, and singer Dawa Lhamo.

Happy Tibetan Calligraphy Day! Established in 2017 by calligraphy associations in Tibet, this special day on 4-30 (4 for the number of vowels in the Tibetan alphabet, and 30 for the number of letters) celebrates the beauty and breadth of Tibetan calligraphic writing and art. It is commemorated widely across Tibet and in Tibetan communities worldwide.

This past Sunday, the Latse Project celebrated Tibetan Calligraphy Day at the Wisconsin Tibetan Association Community Center with over 60 students, their teachers and parents, and other community members. We thank the Wisconsin Tibetan community for the very warm welcome, and for their interest and support of Tibetan Calligraphy Day!
