Tips and Tricks for Water Gardens - Find the Right Plants

Spring has officially sprung and the time to start planning, or caring for your water garden is here! Whether you’re a backyard pond enthusiast or just now starting to think about building a water garden, the "Guide to Water Gardening in New York State" is great help you find the right species.

Choose native species when possible and avoid invasive species.

Before planting, always rinse off any dirt or debris from your plants—including potential eggs, animals, or unwanted plant parts and seeds—preferably in a sunny location away from water.
