Clear skies, good vibes, and great jazz—today, a jazz prodigy takes the stage!

Join us as Leonieke Scheuble and Midnight Special bring their sound to Dante Park (Broadway & 64th Street) from noon to 1:30pm for another free Summer Jazz Sensations concert.

Leonieke was just 10 years old when legendary jazz organist Dr. Lonnie Smith heard her play piano and, after learning she wanted to play organ, gifted her a Hammond organ. She has earned an award from International Women in Jazz, appeared on WBGO, and gone on to become an award-winning Hammond Artist, performing around the world, including at the 2025 World Expo in Osaka.

Enjoy the music along with complimentary samples from Rosa Mexicano, while the West Side Y will join us to lead a guided stretch.

Come hear Leonieke play her portable organ and savor a little taste of Lincoln Square along the way!

A sunny, swinging afternoon awaits! ☀️🎵🎤

Today, Nancy Kelly brings her signature swing to Dante Park (Broadway & 64th Street) from noon to 1:30pm for another free Summer Jazz Sensations concert.

With a career spanning more than five decades, Kelly has performed on stages across the United States and around the world, from Singapore to Switzerland. She has also shared the bill with jazz greats including Betty Carter and Houston Person and is a two-time DownBeat Readers’ Poll winner for Best Female Jazz Vocalist.

And there’s more than music on the schedule—the West Side Y will also be there to lead a guided stretch.

Come enjoy an afternoon of great music, fresh air, and a little movement in Dante Park!

Who better to take the stage than the “person” behind the series?

This week, Eric Person, curator of Summer Jazz Sensations, brings his talents as a saxophonist to Dante Park (Broadway & West 64th Street) for “A Centennial Tribute to Miles and Coltrane.” From noon to 1:30pm, he’ll celebrate the music and legacy of two jazz legends with a special performance.
 
During the concert, Wonder will offer complimentary samples while supplies last, and the West Side Y will lead its popular mid-concert stretch break. We hope you’ll join us in Dante Park for an afternoon of great music and summer fun in Lincoln Square!

We are also pleased to announce that Ralph Memoli, Executive Vice President, who has worked for the BID for the past 25 years, will become President effective August 1, 2026.

The rain is expected to taper off just in time for today’s Summer Jazz Sensations concert, so the show will go on! Spend your lunch break in Dante Park (Broadway & West 64th Street) enjoying acclaimed trombonist Steve Davis and vocalist Abena Koomson-Davis as they perform from noon to 1:30pm.

🥁 Drumroll, please... today’s Summer Jazz Sensations concert features the Jason Tiemann Trio!
 
Join us in Dante Park (Broadway & 64th Street) from noon–1:30pm for an afternoon of free live jazz. Whether you’re a longtime jazz lover or a first-time listener, everyone is welcome.
 
New York City-based drummer and educator Jason Tiemann serves on the faculty at the Jackie McLean Institute of Jazz at the University of Hartford. He has performed with renowned jazz artists including Benny Golson, David Liebman, Harold Mabern, and Eric Alexander.
 
Rosa Mexicano will be serving complimentary samples throughout the concert, and between sets, the West Side Y will lead a guided stretch.
