Just two weeks ago, Noi Jemmott was where every 17-year-old should be: in her classes at Barbados Community College, focusing on her Building and Civil Engineering degree. Between her studies and her time on the court as an avid Warrens Club volleyball player, Noi’s life was defined by motion, creativity, and a bright future.
Known as an exceptional visual artist who earned top honors for her work at The St. Michael’s School, Noi has always seen beauty in the world. Even now, facing the most "unfortunate" of circumstances, her pragmatic bravery shines through. When things get tough, she simply smiles and says, "It is what it is, ya know?" while remaining the most positive person in the room.
What started as a slight headache and a moment of dizziness at school turned into every family’s worst nightmare. Following a blood test on Friday, April 24th, Noi was diagnosed with Acute Leukemia (ALL).
This is an incredibly aggressive, fast-growing blood cancer. It doesn’t wait. It doesn't pause. In less than seven days, Noi’s world has shifted from the classroom to a hospital bed, where she is currently fighting a critically low platelet count.
Because of the aggressive nature of her leukemia, local care is no longer enough. Her doctors have been clear: Noi needs specialized, intensive treatment in Colombia, and she needs to be there by Friday, May 8th.
We are racing against a ticking clock to raise the funds necessary to save her life.
To get Noi to the care she needs, we must reach a monumental goal in a very short window. Transparency is our priority, and here is exactly how your donations will be used:
$135,000 USD: Required in full by the Colombian medical facility to begin the first month of intensive treatment.
$36,000 USD: The cost of a specialized Air Ambulance—the only way Noi can safely travel given her current platelet levels.
The Daily Fight: For those who cannot give large amounts, a donation of $25 or $50 is vital. These funds will cover the daily costs of living for Noi and her mother, Cathy-Ann Allman, in a foreign country where they have no home, no jobs, and no support system other than your kindness.
Please give blood so that while she remains here she can continue to have her blood transfusions.
This campaign is organized by Noi’s mother, Cathy-Ann Allman. Cathy-Ann will be traveling with Noi to manage her care and ensure every cent of these funds is applied cautiously toward the preservation of Noi’s life. Her father is deeply impacted and has exhausted all his funds which hardly scratched the surface. Noi is his heart. Janson Jemmott is a committed father and Noi is their only child.
Noi is a young lady of exceptional spirit—kind, empathetic to every person and animal she meets, and full of untapped potential. She is a fighter, but she cannot fight this battle without an army behind her.
Donate: No amount is too small. Whether it is $10 or $1,000, it all goes toward the $171,000+ needed by next Friday. Overall we are aiming to raise 400,000 USD for her complete care and recovery.
