🍝❤️ A Vacation with a Purpose!

While visiting Israel on vacation, Master Chef Gershon Schwadron of Boca Raton, Florida, (www.chefgersh.com) chose not to spend his time just relaxing. Instead, he came to Laniado Hospital in Netanya to share his culinary expertise with our dedicated kitchen staff.

Chef Gershon led a special workshop for our chefs and sous chefs and then joined them in preparing a delicious, child-friendly spaghetti and meatball meal for young patients in our Pediatric Department. Every meal served at Laniado is carefully planned to meet the unique dietary needs of children with a wide range of medical conditions.

Chef Gershon was deeply impressed by the professionalism and dedication of the entire kitchen team, who lovingly prepare nearly 3,000 meals, three times a day, for patients and staff.

A graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, Chef Gershon shared:

«"I simply love teaching others the fine art of food preparation and presentation. Bringing a smile to the faces of sick children enjoying spaghetti and meatballs brought joy to my heart. It was the best thing I could have done with my vacation."»

Thank you, Chef Gershon, for reminding us that kindness, compassion, and a delicious meal can be powerful ingredients in the healing process. 💙

A proud day for Laniado Hospital!

We are honored to become Israel's first autism-friendly, trauma-informed Pediatric Emergency Department in partnership with ALUT.

For many children with autism, a visit to the Emergency Department can be overwhelming. That's why we've created a new approach that includes specially trained staff, a calming sensory treatment room, family support tools, and ongoing research to improve care for every child.

This initiative reflects our belief that every child deserves outstanding medical care delivered with compassion, dignity, and understanding.

Thank you to ALUT, Teva Pharmaceutical Industries, the Ministry of Health, Tel Aviv University, and everyone whose dedication made this vision a reality.

Together, we're creating a more inclusive future for pediatric healthcare in Israel. 💙

It is hard to convey the emotion of this reunion. 💔❤️

It was a surreal full-circle moment, proving that even from the deepest darkness, light and life always prevail.

Just as the people of Israel mark 1,000 days since that terrible day of October 7th, a serendipitous and deeply moving encounter took place during a routine medical training. Sitting around the same table, completely unplanned, were Uriel Yefei—a Cardiac ICU nurse here at Laniado and a volunteer paramedic with United Hatzalah—and the dear Raz Froilich, who was critically wounded on Simchat Torah (October 7th) and fought for his life.

The person who was there for him in the most critical moments, who provided life-saving treatment and never gave up on him for a second, was Uriel—bringing all his expertise and resourcefulness as an ICU professional straight to the field.

And last week, after a long rehabilitation, incredible resilience, and supreme heroism, they reunited. The room filled with tears of emotion and overwhelming gratitude for the gift of life.

Because this reunion is the very heart of what we do! ❤️🏥

❗️*Warning: Be Alert – No Child Left Behind in the Car: Life-Saving Tips!* 🚨

Summer is at its peak and the heat can be deadly! 🌡️ Every year tragic incidents occur that can easily be prevented. Here's what's important to know:

🚫 *Never leave a child in a car – not even for a minute!*
Even if the windows are open, the heat in the car increases quickly and endangers lives.

✅ *Each time you get out of the car – check that no one is inside*
Open the rear passenger doors at the end of every trip, even if it seems like no one is there.

💡 *Leave an important object next to the child:*
A bag, wallet, phone – anything you wouldn't leave without. This way you'll see the child and remember to take him or her out.

📱 *Use reminders:*
Set an alarm clock or send a message to your spouse after you've dropped off the child.

📵 *Avoid distractions:*
Don't talk or text on your phone while exiting the car

📞 *Pay attention to cars around you; report a car with a child alone:*
If you see a child in a closed car – call the police immediately at 100!

🔔 *Install a smart alert system:*
One can be purchased at baby equipment stores, car shops and internet sites.

⚠️ Pay special attention during times of routine changes! When there's a change in schedule (like vacation, illness, or when your spouse takes the child instead of you) – that's exactly when the risk increases! Our brain operates automatically, and when the routine changes we might forget. On such days, be even more alert.

💪 *Dear Parents and Grandparents, don't rely only on memory!*
Adopt at least two habits from this list and share the post. 🔄 It can save lives!

🛡️ *Keep the children and yourselves safe!*
