Once again, Hezbollah, Iranian and Yemanite missiles are being fired on Israeli cities by the dozen!@@

Once again, Laniado Hospital is required to relocate patients and medical departments to temporary underground areas that were never designed to function as hospital wards. While our dedicated teams continue to provide outstanding care under these extremely challenging conditions, the current reality highlights the urgent need for our flagship project—the construction of the Sheltered Emergency Hospital.

This state-of-the-art facility will enable patients to receive care in a fully protected, purpose-built medical environment, ensuring continuity of care and safety during times of war and national emergency. The events of recent days have once again demonstrated that this project is not a luxury, but an essential lifeline for the more than 500,000 residents of Netanya and the Sharon region whom Laniado serves.

*This little one has become a giant! 🌟*
*A heartwarming full-circle story for Adi, who has now become a proud father.*

29 years ago, the NICU at Laniado Hospital was Adi Karta’s first home. Born at just 27 weeks and weighing only 800 grams, he was a tiny warrior who fought for his life for three long months.

Caring for him back then with endless devotion was Eti Litig, our NICU Head Nurse. 🤍

Last week, history repeated itself in the most moving way.
Adi returned to our new NICU—but this time, not as a premature baby, but as a father. Together with his wife Shirley, they came to take home their newborn daughter. She was cared for in our fortified, state-of-the-art NICU, providing safety and peace of mind even during these challenging times of war.

At Laniado, our protected NICU operates 24/7, even under the threat of ballistic missiles and rockets. This security is exactly why we’ve seen a drastic increase in birth rates at Laniado throughout the war—parents know their little ones are in the safest hands and the safest place.

And the ultimate full-circle moment? Eti Litig, who devotedly cared for Adi nearly three decades ago, was there once again to care for the next generation and personally es**rt them home.

Pesach 2026.

As we prepare for the Seder, our hospital is once again under fire — but never stops caring.

Even while cleaning, kashering, and getting ready for Pesach, we are receiving and installing additional IDF mobile shelters across the campus. Every step we take is with one goal: to keep our patients, visitors, and staff safe at all times.

In the midst of uncertainty, life continues. Babies are born, lives are saved, and hope endures.

This Pesach, as we celebrate freedom, we are reminded how precious and fragile it is — and how committed we are to protecting it.

But mobile shelters are not enough.
We urgently need to complete our Sheltered Emergency Hospital — a fully protected space where critical care can continue even under direct threat.

This is a matter of life and death.
When sirens sound, seconds matter. Patients on ventilators, mothers in labor, and medical teams saving lives cannot run.

Why is this Pessach different from all others??

As always, our chefs and kitchen crew need to continue preparing 3000 meals of nutrious food 3 times a day for our patients and staff.

Multiple diets are required due to a variety of health issues among paitients. All this must continue non stop up unti Erevl Pessach orchestrated by Master Chef Netanel Ben Naim נתנאל בן נעים

Simutaneously, the traditional cleaning and kashering all equipment in our kitchen is now in full gear, with our staff working outside within a short distance of a mobile bomb shelter placed nearby by the IDF for use by staff, patients and visitors in case of a siren.

This past Friday morning, Moshe Bar Siman Tov, Director General of the Ministry of Health, visited Laniado Hospital and witnessed something extraordinary.

Deep underground, in fortified wards and protected delivery rooms, our doctors, nurses, and staff continue to save lives—while sirens sound and uncertainty surrounds us.

He saw mothers bringing new life into the world in our fully protected maternity unit… a unit that exists because of you.

He met our team. He heard their stories. And in one deeply emotional moment, he met a staff member who lost her son on October 7—yet continues to care for others with strength and compassion that words cannot describe.

“You have become the most sought-after team in the Middle East,” he told them.

For the past two weeks of war, the dedicated teams at Laniado Hospital have been working around the clock under extremely difficult conditions.

While missiles fall and sirens sound, doctors, nurses, and staff continue caring for patients, moving departments into protected spaces, and ensuring that life-saving treatment never stops.

This short video offers a brief glimpse into the courage, resilience, and quiet heroism taking place every day inside the hospital.

Laniado Hospital conducted a large-scale mass casualty drill simulating a direct missile strike in Netanya and the simultaneous arrival of numerous injured patients—men, women, and children.

The exercise, led by the hospital’s emergency preparedness team, included participation from rescue organizations, police, and an IDF Home Front Command reserve unit currently serving inside the hospital.

During the drill, teams practiced triage, activating treatment areas for severe and mild injuries, mobilizing trauma, imaging, blood bank, obstetrics and pediatric teams, as well as receiving patients in the operating rooms and activating the hospital’s helipad.

Hospital CEO Nadav Chen noted:
“Training is the key to readiness in real emergencies. Since the start of the war, we have implemented many preparedness measures, and we will continue to train—while hoping we never need to use these capabilities in reality.”
