Just wanted to update you on another request that Neighbors for Refugees received from Union Rescue Mission, a shelter in Los Angeles. They need 500 adult masks and 700 children masks. Is anyone making masks that can go toward this request? Let me know!

There is still a tremendous need for masks if anyone is making them. I'm still employing refugees to sew and requests are still coming in. We are sewing kids and adult sizes for HOPE CommunityServices Apple Preschool in Queens MS 181, and our friends at Ppe4nyc who send them to institutions all over NYC that are desperate for PPE.

Here's how you can help:

1. We need materials! Drop it at my house. DM me for details.
2. Make masks! Any size.
3. Fund the refugees’ work! We pay them to make each mask. Donate at neighborsforrefugees.org. Private donations are keeping them employed.

I have fabric, elastic, and materials to make masks if anyone is willing and able. I can get everything to you or you can pick up at my house. There is still need and they will go into the hands of health workers, essential workers, and children. Please comment below if you can help and THANK YOU!

I'm reaching out to see if we can get your help. Masks for NY and Neighbors For Refugees have partnered with Imam Makram el Amin’s service org, Al-Maa'uun, a Minneapolis Muslim charity that provides food relief and medical supplies in some of the worst-affected African-American communities, and communities of color, in Minneapolis. Their needs have dramatically escalated since the murder of George Floyd. This is a community already reeling from COVID-19.

Here's how you, and we, can help. NFR has a group of dedicated sewists ready to make masks. But the org needs a lot of masks - 1200. If you can help fund our initiative, we can get the sewists on this ASAP. Kudos to all of you for helping us provide masks to our larger community. Our initiate with the refugee seamstresses is listed as a way to safely volunteer during the pandemic on Visit.org!
