ECB Women Foundation - is looking to identify, establish, and develop a women shelter for persons suffering from depression, loneliness, abuse by the partners/spouse from violence, substance abuse, and in need of health care, in the Guyanese communities and to present a plan for a successful modern woman’s shelters in the future. ach out to us for help as we want to provide a sense of security with a modern facility and all necessities they must feel safe and protected from all external dangers. Our organization want to provide, the women of Guyana who have been abused by partners/spouse violence, suffering from any forms of disability, abuse, neglect, and loss of parents, with, safe and healthy shelter, food, and sustainable development in the long term. We want to ensure they become stronger and well-rounded individuals after they leave our doors, this will be done by rehabilitating the women with interpersonal development, health care, and the building of their self-esteem through therapy and self-empowerment. Also general learning skills through education in farming, fishing, crafts, and other technical industries that are required. They should be in an environment where they feel safe, loved and we want to ensure that they are given that throughout their lives. Our vision is to show members of society that every woman regardless of their needs, races, genders, and religious background deserves a loving livelihood and to be treated with dignity care, and respect and can become productive members of society. A project like this will be costly but we are committed to making a change in Guyana. Currently, there is only one major organization set up in Guyana to deal with violence and abuse against women. With our establishment in Guyana, we will help to reduce this problem and save the lives of many women who suffer at the hands of violence and other harsh realities facing women in Guyana. According to research one in three women will experience physical violence during their lifetime. One in ten will experience sexual violence and as recently these numbers have been growing steadily in Guyana. Most of these situations frequently happen due to the imbalanced power that limits the victim's financial options when they want to leave most of these women to face this challenge too since they have never been independent or many don’t know how to.
