✨We are welcoming the New Year with great hope and dedication as we introduce to you a plan to make a real difference. ✨

🐾✨A legal step forward that defines how we have valued our furry companions for so many generations, yet feels as though it has been skipped over, despite our widespread devotion towards the health, love, and emotional bonds we share with our pets.

🐾✨So many of us are completely unaware of the severe limitations of legal protections that our companion pets actually have.

🐾✨Our personal experience and the connections we have made with others has been eye opening to just how broad this scope of legal limitations are, and how vulnerable even the best pet parents are.

🐾✨ We have seen that defining a living, sentient being as mere ‘property’ lies at the heart of a deeply unjust and harmful legal framework, additionally perpetuating a multifaceted animal welfare crisis.

🐾✨ In efforts to prevent similar traumas we’ve endured, and bring awareness with legal securities, we have come up with a plan to protect our pets, our families, and support the welfare of these special companions.

We cannot continue with an antiquated law that defines our pets as mere "property" —a definition that fuels a long list of critical and heartbreaking issues. It's time for reformation, grounded in the best interest of our companions, recognizing them as what they truly are: valued family members. This change has the potential to transform protections, bring enforced regulations and standards for animal welfare in their best interests, and provide a legal security to families nationwide.

It's time we all UNITE to fix a law that is long overdue and fails to reflect today's society.

👉 We know how much our pets mean to us and the intelligence they possess. 95% of pet owners consider their pets to be family.
👉 Scientists continue to uncover the profound, unbreakable bonds we share with them and the unconditional love they give us throughout their much too-short lives.
👉 Yet, under U.S. law, our treasured companions are still considered "property" —no different than a chair or an iPad. My dog could never be replaced, yet many state laws barely give him more value than a kitchen table.

‼️ How can the companions who help us survive and thrive in countless ways lack basic national standards enforceable by law for:
🐾 Pet care provider liabilities
🐾 Humane shelter conditions and regulations
🐾 Puppy mill and breeding restrictions
🐾 Penalties for pet theft and related crimes that
might actually prevent them from reoccurring.

• This is our responsibility.
• These are our family members, these are innocent helpless animals and we must take a stand and realize the depths of this animal welfare crisis our country has been feeding for quite some time.
• Our pets love us selflessly, expecting nothing in return (except maybe a belly rub and a chicken treat).
