Bone Marrow Transplant,
These photos are from the 15 minutes today that Natalie was happy. Only other families of cancer patients will understand this, but when hair falls out from chemo (I think especially so in BMT due to the high doses), the skin becomes sort of tacky. When kids were here last they actually had great fun with Natalie taking turns sticking things to the top of her head 🙃 Well, her baby hair is starting to thin again and her head is starting to get that same tacky feeling, so she had a good laugh over the things she could keep on her head that I couldn’t keep on my head today 💛
Minus these fun few minutes, Natalie was awake from 2-6am last night. I was in an *awful* mood by the time we finally “got up” for the day at 6:45. Thankfully we had a great team today and they helped with some nighttime adjustments that I’m hoping will make her more comfortable tonight. We thankfully got a couple naps in to catch up on some of the sleep.
She also spiked a fever which is sort of expected after transplant, but because she has a central line, fevers always have to be treated as a line infection until cultures come back hopefully clear in a few days.
Sooooooo I got to hold her down while they drew blood out of her arm. I also got to be the one to give her her daily G-CSF injection because she prefers that I do it.
Now we have a huge hospital bill to pay up but we are left with little or no money.
The total amount for the surgery and hospital aids cost
$3,000 Approximately.
A good sameritan offered to donate $500 to aid payments.
Natalie and our team will be so happy to receive your donation through our website, iwelfare.org iwelfare.org iwelfare.org
We also need your prayers as we do our best to help the less privileged through your donations
God bless you all. ❤️
