On Tuesday morning, we brought together an incredible group for a Women's History Month breakfast, panel, and networking event co-hosted with Princeton Innovation Center BioLabs. The room was full of life sciences leaders, business development personnel, scientists, and students ready to listen, share, and connect.
A big thank you to our moderator, Juliet Hart, and to our esteemed panelists Elizabeth Mutisya, Cha-Mei Tang, Erika Zannou-Mantri, and Kat Tarasova. You brought honesty and perspective to the room. We talked about the successes, the pivots, the risks, and the strategies for managing uncertainty that shape real impact.
The conversation was particularly timely given the current landscape. We discussed the challenges of building something meaningful when resources are limited, a reality underscored by the fact that less than 2% of all VC funding goes to women founders. We explored where careers begin, the relationships that change trajectories, and how to navigate systemic hurdles.
The call to action from the morning was clear: Stay curious. Keep learning. Talk to people. Be prepared. Stay optimistic, and above all, be resilient.
At Life Science Cares New York, we believe the same ingenuity used to solve global health challenges can be used to disrupt poverty in our own backyard. When our industry shows up to share their time and talent, we build the bridges that provide our neighbors with access to basic needs, education, and opportunity.
A special thank you to Michelle Roemer-Schoen for being such a wonderful partner, TellMed Strategies for sponsoring the gift basket, and to everyone who joined us to make the morning so special. These are the spaces where connections spark impact and community grows!
