It is with great sadness that we inform you that 57 year Rockville Centre Lion Arnold Fleischer has passed away. Lion Arnold was a local Rockville Centre business owner for many years. Lion Arnold has been a Rockville Centre Lion since 1969. Along with former Rockville Centre Mayor Lion Eugene Murray, Lion Arnold was responsible for re-invigorating the Rockville Centre Lions Club in the 1970s and 1980s. He was always focused on bringing in younger members, and was an early champion of women members in the Lions Club, including his wife Lion Linda Fleischer, who predeceased him.
Arnold’s generous support helped sponsor “Arnold the Dog” who successfully passed training with the Guide Dog Foundation. In fact, Arnold the Dog did so well he was placed in the breeding program due to the outstanding qualities and traits he displayed during training. The Foundation considers dogs who get placed in the breeding program to be the highest level of achievement.
