WE’RE GREENLIT! ❤️

Thanks to your incredible generosity, What We Do in The Light has officially reached Seed&Spark’s Greenlight threshold! We’re beyond grateful to everyone who has believed in this project and helped bring our work to life.

Now, with the finish line in sight, we’re asking for one final push to reach our $15,000 goal for post-production. Every contribution will help us complete these five interconnected films and share them with audiences.

If you’ve been thinking about supporting us, now is the time. Every dollar, every share, and every show of support makes a difference.

Thank you for believing in independent filmmaking, the collaborative spirit of The Actors Studio, and the power of stories that connect us all.

❤️ Make a pledge:

From a tender reunion between a caregiver and a nonverbal autistic man, to a family whose act of kindness turns into a fight for survival, to a grieving mother’s desperate plunge into the spirit world, these stories unearth human connection at its most raw and transformative.

What We Do In The Light is a five film anthology exploring the spaces between life and death, loss and healing, connection and transformation.

Principal Photography is complete. The stories are here. Now we need your help to give them the finish and platform they deserve.
We are raising $15,000 in finishing funds to complete the final stages of post production and launch What We Do In The Light into the festival circuit, both as an anthology and as five individual short films.

Your support will help us transform a collection of independently created films into a professionally finished, festival ready cinematic experience capable of reaching audiences, programmers, collaborators and industry professionals far beyond our own community.

EVERY DOLLAR MOVES THE STORIES FORWARD.
WHAT WE DO IN THE LIGHT
- an anthology featuring five short films.

In this hauntingly beautiful anthology, five intimate tales explore the fragile line between life and death, love and loss, reality and the unseen. Each episode stands alone yet echoes the same question: what lingers when words fail, trust fractures, or time runs out?

From a tender reunion between a caregiver and a nonverbal autistic man (The Shave), to a family whose act of kindness turns into a fight for survival (The Lucky Ones), to a grieving mother’s desperate plunge into the spirit world (Into the Bardo), these stories unearth human connection at its most raw and transformative. A father pleads with the cosmos for one more day with his son (Hereafter), and a patient in a rehabilitation center is stirred back to life by a mythical visitation (The Lady of Avalon).

Told with cinematic intimacy and lyrical restraint evoking the dreamlike textures, Season 1 invites audiences to journey into the spaces where the seen and unseen meet, and where every ending carries the possibility of a beginning.

CABIN COLLECTIVE STUDIO:
Kate Taney BILLINGSLEY, Alfredo DIAZ, Lash DOOLEY, Bryan HAMILTON, Eddie KEHLER, Paul Skye LEHRMAN, Maggie LOW, Kesten MIGDAL, Myla PITT, Kenny Neal SHULTS, Francisco SOLORZANO

Words fail to express how heartbroken we are about the passing of a beloved longtime collaborator and friend, Charles Casano…

His generosity, talent, humor, and beautiful spirit touched so many of us. We are deeply grateful for all the years of shared work, laughter, and friendship.

Charles will be missed more than words can say.
