New York State's law guaranteeing every child a "sound basic education" is toothless, as long as the state fails to enforce it.

Did you know, in New York a child can attend a school from kindergarten through high school and leave without receiving any instruction in basic subjects such as English, math, science, or social studies.

We need strong laws and regulations to make sure children don't fall through the cracks.
