Can social inequality create a global disaster?
Certainly! Racial and social inequality can impact our world tremendously. When privileges are set for only a group of people, it can create economical deprivation and segregation, leading to the lack of healthcare services, housing, basic human rights resources and poverty.
In addition, the frustration of the oppressed group will bubble and explode in protests, riots and looting causing a city, state or nation millions of dollars. The 1992 Los Angeles riots proceeding the acquittal of four officers after beating Rodney King caused the city $775 million in damages. Today, following the death of George Floyd, violent protests are erupting all over the United States and world wide.
What can we do? It is imperative for human rights to be practiced as much as we can . Listen to the ones crying for help and show effort into helping and meeting them along the way.
We can make a change. It is all up to us to work together and make the world a better place.
