On this World Day of Migrants and Refugees, Mercy Global Action stands in solidarity with children on the move - and with every person seeking safety, belonging, and hope.

Guided by this year’s theme, “Even Just One of These Children,” we affirm that no child should be overlooked, unprotected, or denied the chance to flourish. May we work together to welcome, safeguard, promote, and include children in migration with compassion, justice, and Mercy.

Mercy Day 2026 marks the start of a special journey toward the 200th anniversary of the opening of the first House of Mercy.

Inspired by Catherine McAuley’s enduring vision, we celebrate a legacy rooted in compassion, courage, and practical love, and recommit ourselves to justice in a world still marked by poverty, exclusion, and inequality.

May Mercy move us from reflection to action: standing with communities pushed to the margins, defending human dignity, and building a more just and compassionate world.

Peace is not only the absence of conflict - it is the presence of dignity, inclusion, justice, and security for every person. On the International Day of Peace, we join the United Nations’ urgent call to “Invest in Peace - For Everyone, Everywhere, Every Day.”

Inspired by Catherine McAuley’s vision of Mercy in action, we recognize that lasting peace is built from the ground up - in homes, schools, communities, institutions, and across borders. May we choose solidarity over division, compassion over indifference, and courageous action over silence.

Congratulations to MELF Cohort 5, who celebrated the conclusion of their Fellowship year at Catherine's House on Baggot Street. The ceremony featured graduation remarks from Sr. Anna Burke rsm, who spoke to the Fellows about the boundless and transformative power of Mercy. As the Fellows from Cohort 5 return home, they carry a bond of sisterhood and leadership shaped by mercy, courage, compassion, and hope.

Over the last 10 days, Cohort 5 of the Mercy Global Action Emerging Leaders Fellowship has been in Ireland for their final immersion. During their visit, the Fellows have presented their justice projects in the original classroom in the House of Mercy that Catherine McAuley opened nearly 200 years ago and have visited places of significance to Mercy mission and spirituality in Ireland. It has been a wonderful period of community, celebration, reflection, and looking to the future of Mercy leadership!

Each year from September 1 to October 4, the Christian family unites for the Season of Creation, a worldwide celebration of prayer and action to protect our common home. We rejoice in this opportunity to safeguard our common home and all beings who share it with us. This year, in anticipation of the UN Water Conference, the theme for the Season of Creation is “Living Water.”

Pope Leo XIV shared this message for the World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation 2025: "Environmental justice – implicitly proclaimed by the prophets – can no longer be regarded as an abstract concept or a distant goal. It is an urgent need that involves much more than simply protecting the environment. For it is a matter of justice – social, economic and human. For believers it is also a duty born of faith, since the universe reflects the face of Jesus Christ, in whom all things were created and redeemed."

We look forward to praying, celebrating, and advocating together in hope and action with Creation this Season.

Congratulations to Cohort 5 of the Mercy Global Action Emerging Leaders Fellowship, who presented the fruits of their year-long justice projects at Mercy International Centre in Dublin. The full projects and presentation recordings will be available on the Mercy International Association website shortly. These projects have already had a meaningful impact in the Fellows' local and national contexts, and we look forward to seeing how they will continue to inspire transformative change throughout the global Mercy community.

UPDATE! Our MELF Fellows will be presenting their Justice projects over the next two days, and the presentations will now be livestreamed on the Mercy International Association page. Please join the livestream and show your support by sharing questions and comments during and after the presentations. The link is available via our bio, we are excited to share the Fellows' work with the Mercy community.

If you miss the live presentations, the recordings will be published to the Mercy International Association website and YouTube channel after the conclusion of the MELF programme.

We are excited to announce the presentations from Cohort 5 of our MELF Program. Each Fellow has focused on a particular justice topic for the duration of the program, and during their final immersion in Dublin, the Fellows will present their final project to the team. Our Fellows have worked very hard and have done some exceptional research, and we are proud to be sharing them with the Mercy community.

If you’d like to engage with Floravel’s project ‘Rethink and Act Now’, the recordings will be made available on the Mercy website following the presentations.
