Attorney Youngsoo Choi has been awarded a Presidential Commendation from the Republic of Korea in recognition of his longstanding dedication and contributions to the Korean American community. Heartfelt congratulations to Attorney Youngsoo Choi on this well-deserved recognition!

The Co-Chair of KACE’s Legal Task Force, Attorney Choi has dedicated more than 20 years to serving the Korean American community in New York and New Jersey through free legal consultations, legal seminars and clinics, and legal hotline services. His commitment was especially evident during the COVID-19 pandemic, when he provided essential information and support to Korean American small business owners across the country. He has also tirelessly advocated for immigrants facing deportation, defending their rights and expanding access to legal protection.

We are incredibly proud and delighted to see Attorney Choi’s longstanding dedication, compassion, and invaluable contributions to the community recognized. His unwavering commitment to protecting the rights of Korean Americans is truly inspiring.

On October 16, 2026, KACE joined the Flushing YMCA’s annual Chuseok Celebration.

We taught kids how to play traditional Korean games and introduced them to Korean jelly candy. We also distributed election guide materials to the parents in preparation for the upcoming General Election. In addition, we helped register a newly naturalized citizen, and they will be voting for the first time this November.

지난 10월 16일, 시민참여센터는 플러싱 YMCA에서 주최한 연례 추석 행사에 참여했습니다.

어린이들에게 한국 전통놀이를 소개하고 한국 젤리 사탕을 나누어 주었으며, 다가오는 본선거(General Election)를 앞두고 학부모들에게 선거 안내 자료를 배포했습니다. 또한, 최근 미국 시민권을 취득한 주민의 유권자 등록을 도와 이번 11월에 생애 처음으로 투표할 수 있도록 지원했습니다.

KACE joined the 2026 Korean Parade & Festival in Manhattan on October 3, 2026. It was a meaningful opportunity to celebrate Korean culture and heritage with Korean Americans and other community members from diverse backgrounds.

We were honored to be part of this annual celebration and especially grateful for the opportunity to connect and engage with so many community members throughout the day.

A special thank-you to everyone who stopped by our booth to learn more about civic engagement, including voter registration, address changes, and party affiliation changes. We truly appreciate your participation!

시민참여센터는 지난 10월 3일 토요일, 뉴욕 맨해튼에서 열린 "2026 코리안 퍼레이드 & 페스티벌"에 함께했습니다. 한인 및 다양한 배경의 지역사회 구성원들과 함께 한국의 문화와 전통을 기념하고, 한인 커뮤니티의 자긍심을 나누는 뜻깊은 시간이었습니다.

매년 열리는 뜻깊은 행사에 함께할 수 있어 영광이었으며, 하루 종일 많은 지역사회 구성원들과 만나 소통하고 교류할 수 있어 더욱 뜻깊었습니다.

KACE is one of the community partners for this informational webinar. The 2026 General Elections in New York are just around the corner. To help eligible voters in New York get prepared, our SYEP participant recruited other summer interns to put together a fun instructional video on the voter registration process in New York. We hope that the information provided is helpful.

KACE at the Chuseok Festival in NJ!

Last Friday, KACE joined the Chuseok celebration at Overpeck County Park in New Jersey and promoted our 8080 Campaign.

Our 8080 Campaign aims to achieve 80% voter registration and 80% voter turnout in the Korean American community.

Despite the strong winds, many community members stopped by the KACE booth with questions about voter registration, address changes, party changes, and voting.🗳️
