We’re so proud to share that Leave It Better was selected as one of only 37 organizations to receive the $10,000 Composting for Community Mini-Grant from the Institute for Local Self-Reliance (ILSR)!

This grant supports our 2025 Summer Camp and strengthens our ongoing mission to teach students about gardening, soil health, and environmental stewardship .

We are so excited to announce the opening of our Leave It Better community garden at 1974 Grand Avenue At West Tremont Ave. With spring right around the corner, gardening is a great way to welcome a new season while having fun and giving back to the community. With a new semester also comes new journals!! Our 8th graders decorated their journals and made their first entry of many. Journaling has several benefits, such as goal setting and relieving stress. Having a personalized journal where you get to be honest with yourself is also a fantastic way to reflect on your past and where you want to be in the future. Our first journal reflection is a great way to help you think of short- and long-term goals: what are five things you want to achieve in the next 4 years?
