Gratitude: Transforming Leadership, Community, and Culture
Our September 18th Board Retreat at Leewood Golf Club was more than a meeting — it was an atmosphere of fellowship, gratitude, and vision.
We thank our Board Chair, Dr. Derek Suite, for leading us in a powerful reflection on gratitude, reminding us that it is more than a feeling — it is a practice that transforms scarcity into abundance, conflict into peace, and houses into homes. Yesterday, I discovered a new gratitude for gratitude — seeing it as appreciation for where God has brought us and peace that steadies us even in trials.
I am grateful for our Board of Directors, our Leadership Team, and those who shared the heart of our mission: saving lives, healing communities, one relationship at a time. We also welcomed Dimas Salaberrios as our newest Board Member and celebrated receiving a grant to launch a comprehensive Fatherhood Initiative — expanding our capacity to support fathers and families.
And as divine confirmation of the moment we shared, later that same day we received notice that LRCDC has been awarded the NeighborhoodStat – East Harlem contract — a project to strengthen community safety and elevate resident leadership.
I am humbled and honored to serve alongside such faithful leaders, and my heart is full of gratitude to God for the demonstration of His grace among us.
