When the Happy Flowers team, a group of fifth graders from the San José area, joined the Enterprise Challenge, they noticed the nearest flower shop was more than 20 minutes from their community. Inspired to make natural beauty more accessible and reconnect their community with its local heritage, they created a business selling native flower bouquets and seed packets.

Through the program, they developed entrepreneurial, communication, and teamwork skills, learning that successful ideas require trust, perseverance, and collaboration.

Their hard work paid off. Happy Flowers won the Northern California Regional Finals and earned the opportunity to present their business idea on a national stage in New York City.

When our founder, His Majesty King Charles III, delivered remarks at The King's Trust Global Gala in New York this spring, His Majesty spoke of the "virtuous circle," which reflects the lasting impact of The Trust's work.

Karen Burns' story is the virtuous circle in action. After receiving a Prince's Trust grant in her native Scotland in 1991, she's now helping transform young lives in California's Bay Area and Sierra Foothills through the Sonora School of Sewing & Apparel Construction.

This summer, The King’s Trust USA has been so lucky to have the support of intern Katherine Guallpa, a business analytics major at the University of Rochester.

As her internship draws to a close, she offers a glimpse into a day in her life at the office and shares what she's gained through the experience.

San Francisco's hills were no match for our 50 for 50 runners, who logged 26.2 miles on Sunday in support of The King's Trust USA! 🏃‍♀️

Congratulations to all The San Francisco Marathon finishers, especially our incredible team. Every mile they ran is helping create more opportunities for young people to build the skills, confidence, and opportunities they need to thrive.

A special thank you to His Majesty's Consul General Eleanor Kiloh of San Francisco for generously hosting our runners for a carb load dinner.

After spending months learning the ins and outs of building their business ideas from scratch, our regional finalists came together in New York City to pitch their businesses on the national stage.
