The Ashtavakra Gita or the Song of Ashtavakra is a classical Indian poem written in Sanskrit as a dialogue exploring the nature of reality between two seekers Ashtavakra and Janaka written around 2500 years ago.

Dear friends,

I wanted to share something personal that has been quietly taking shape over time.

I’ve been working on a translation and interpretation of the Ashtavakra Gita, returning to the original Sanskrit and engaging with it in a way that feels simple, direct, and sincere. This effort has been less about producing something “authoritative” and more about understanding—an attempt to move away from the cynicism that often colors our thinking, and instead sit with the ideas in their most unadorned form.

I’m happy to share that I am planning to publish this work as a book, which will be available on Amazon in the coming months. I’ll be sure to post here once everything is finalized and available.

Alongside this, I’ve also begun working on a similar translation of the Yoga Sutras by Maharishi Patanjali—another text that invites deep reflection when approached with openness and simplicity.

Thank you for being part of this journey. More to come soon.

years ago, I knew of someone
who said their thanks
to the asters blooming by the ditch;
whether fact or fancy,
until they wilted
the asters seemed to light up even more

the directness of the guidance here is indeed revelatory

as hard as we attempt,
the way we narrate and depict
the form and beauty of things
can never be the thing itself;
oftentimes, the act of description is a prelude to duality

it is a long road,
but approaching all of the manifest with kindness
until the dormant kindness in every becoming shines through
is one more way of getting there..

the rest of our embodied being
is always here and now
engaged with this becoming,
it appears that our mind
saunters behind or skips forward
completely missing here and now
