🐾 A Week in Southeast Queens That Restored Our Faith in Community 🐾
This week has been a lot — but in the most beautiful way.
Earlier in the week, a member of our Dog Run Group found an abandoned cat. Scared, alone, and left behind… but never for long in THIS community. We took him in, got him safe, and within days he was adopted into a loving home. 💛✨
And then, just a few days later, our hearts broke all over again.
Two abandoned Cane Corsos were found tethered to a gate in Springfield Park — one tied so tightly he had to chew through his rope. But even once free, he refused to leave his sister’s side. That loyalty? That devotion? That’s real love. 🖤🐶
That’s when our neighborhood heroes stepped in.
🚒 Engine 311 / Hook & Ladder 158 showed up without hesitation and rescued both dogs. Compassion in action — exactly what makes Southeast Queens so special.
The best part?
❤️🔥 The male Corso is now an official member of Hook & Ladder 158!🎊❤️
🏡 And his sister is safe and being lovingly fostered in Far Rockaway.
From abandoned… to protected… to loved.
