Join our Summer Intensive Duncan workshop this summer at the 92NY Harkness Dance Center, 1395 Lexington Avenue in New York City.

JULY 27-31, 2026
MONDAY-FRIDAY 10:30-1:00

Driven by breath and fueled by momentum Duncan’s work unlocks a dynamic range of weight, flow, and expressive power. Led by Catherine Gallant with longtime collaborators Francesca Todesco, Loretta Thomas, and Marie Carstens. Each session will begin with a technique class and include an exploration of selected works created by Duncan over 100 years ago. We hope you will join us as we dive into repertory rich with dramatic possibility and expansive physicality. This workshop invites you to step inside this legacy of modern dance — physically, viscerally, and creatively.

Join us for a special afternoon of dance inspired by the timeless artistry of Isadora Duncan and the powerful music of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky.

On Sunday, May 24 at 2:30 PM, students participating in a workshop led by Francesca Todesco of Dances we Dance will share excerpts from Duncan’s Tchaikovsky Symphony No. 6 “Pathétique”, as well as other short dances in this informal showing. For many of these dancers, this has been their very first encounter with Duncan’s work — making this sharing not only a performance, but a discovery, a transformation, and a celebration of artistic freedom.

✨ Το Τμήμα Μελέτης Χορού Ι. & Ρ. Ντάνκαν ανοίγει τις πόρτες του το Σάββατο 9 Μαΐου στις 17:30 και σας προσκαλεί να μοιραστείτε μαζί μας το αποτέλεσμα μιας δεκαπενθήμερης καλλιτεχνικής έρευνας και δημιουργικής συνάντησης.

🌍 Τις τελευταίες δύο εβδομάδες, η χορεύτρια και δημιουργός Francesca Todesco, μαζί με την ομάδα της και τον Joe Williams —ειδικό στη μέθοδο Delsarte— συνεργάζονται με σπουδαστές από όλο τον κόσμο και με μαθητές του Κέντρου Ντάνκαν. Μαζί, εξερευνούν τη ζωντανή κληρονομιά του χορού της Ισιδώρας Ντάνκαν και τον διάλογό της με σύγχρονες προσεγγίσεις της κίνησης.

💫 Ως χορεύτρια τέταρτης γενιάς της παράδοσης Duncan και Καλλιτεχνική Διευθύντρια της ομάδας «Dances We Dance», η Francesca συνεχίζει να μεταφέρει αυτό το νήμα στον χρόνο, συνδέοντας την παράδοση με τη σύγχρονη δημιουργία μέσα από τη διεθνή καλλιτεχνική της πορεία.

🤝 Σε αυτή την ανοιχτή παρουσίαση συναντιούνται η ομάδα «Dances We Dance», ο Joe Williams, οι συμμετέχοντες του εντατικού εργαστηρίου και οι σπουδαστές του Τμήματος Μελέτης Χορού Ι. & Ρ. Ντάνκαν — σε έναν κοινό χώρο δράσης και έκφρασης, όπου η πράξη γίνεται συνάντηση και η δημιουργία μια συλλογική εμπειρία. Ο χώρος μεταμορφώνεται σε έναν ζωντανό τόπο ανταλλαγής, όπου καλλιτέχνες και κοινό συναντιούνται μέσα στην εξέλιξη του έργου.

The Isadora and Raymond Duncan Dance Study Department opens its doors to the public on Saturday, May 9th at 5:30 PM, presenting the outcome of a two-weeek artistic research and creative residency.

Over the course of these two weeks, dancer and creator Francesca Todesco, together with her team and Delsarte expert Joe Williams, has worked alongside students from around the world, as well as participants from the Duncan Dance Center, exploring the living legacy of Isadora Duncan’s dance and its dialogue with contemporary approaches to movement. 

This open presentation brings everyone in a shared space of performance and process—where action becomes encounter and creation becomes a collective experience.

Within this context, the space is transformed into an open place of exchange, where artists and audience meet within the unfolding of the work itself. 

We invite you to follow this journey from research to performance, in a living moment of presence, dialogue, and shared experience.
