We invite you to join Plan International Jordan's event under the project "She Leads", which aims to promote gender equality and empower all women and girls.

This experience will see active participation of girls and young women from the region, where 50 people from Jordan, Lebanon, and Egypt will meet to discuss and interact on the topic of the 68th session of the Commission on the Status of Women.

How can investing in sustainable infrastructure contribute to promoting gender equality and empowering all women and girls?

You will be able to express your views and contribute to developing an action plan for the organization's campaign for the Committee on the Status of Women.

Serafine, representing Kenya in the She Leads UN Youth Cohort, holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Information Technology from Kabarak University. Initially aspiring to be tech-savvy, she discovered a deeper calling during a youth empowerment forum, realizing the potential for greater impact.

With a degree in Business Information Technology, Serafine possesses a solid educational foundation, offering a unique perspective to her advocacy work.
Serafine is deeply passionate about advocating for the rights of girls and young women. Her commitment to this cause stems from a desire to contribute to positive change in areas such as representation, inclusivity, and creative problem-solving.

Mellicentia is a passionate advocate for girls rights, leadership, education and empowerment, whose journey started from her teenage years.

She has dedicated her life in inspiring and impacting others to maximize their potentials, She is also working tirelessly to promote equality and justice for children generally. This is shown by her commitment to voicing issues relating to children and youths especially girls and young women through several positions held in various institutions and also at leading campaigns at the community level. Example; she was a member who grew to the position of advocacy and programs officer at the Action for youth and Children's network and she is now the Executive Director (coordinator) of the girls and young women's advocacy network. Her passion led her to the United Nations Day of general discussion in 2018 as a child human rights defender who sought to voice out the unique perspectives and challenges faced by her peers. Her journey continues as she is now a member of the She Leads United Nations cohort.

She is a strong believer in the power of education and has used her own experiences to inspire others to pursue their dreams.Through her work, she has become a role model for young people around the world. She is a true champion for human rights, and a shining example of what it means to be a leader. She is someone who never gives up, and never stops fighting for what she believes in.

Shamirah, representing Uganda in the She Leads UN Youth Advocate Cohort, is a 21-year-old student studying midwifery and nursing. Beyond her academic pursuits, she serves as a Programs Officer with the Uganda Network of Young People Living with HIV/AIDS.
Shamira's passion lies in championing equality, particularly in ensuring the accessibility of sexual reproductive health and rights (SRHR) and HIV services for girls and young women living and affected by HIV/AIDS.

Her advocacy journey took a significant step with the Yplus Beauty Pageantry, an initiative focused on building capacities for young people living with HIV. Through this platform, Shamirah earned the title of Miss Y+ Central Region 2nd Runner Up, propelling her goal of representing and advocating for young people living with HIV in Uganda.

Shamirah actively advocates for the accessibility of sexual reproductive health and rights (SRHR) services. Her commitment extends to addressing the unique challenges faced by girls and young women living and affected by HIV/AIDS.
Having experienced the challenges of stigma and discrimination, poverty, low self-esteem, and exclusion from leadership spaces, Shamirah advocates for equality, aiming to eradicate these barriers for marginalized groups.

Shamirah has undergone various capacity-building initiatives on advocacy for SRHR with different youth-led Civil Society Organizations. These experiences contribute to her expertise and effectiveness in advocating for the rights of girls and young women.
She firmly believes that diversity is the cornerstone of inclusion. Her advocacy is grounded in creating wide opportunities for marginalized groups, recognizing that inclusivity is essential for a more equitable society.

CELEBRATE ASEEL WITH US!

Aseel Ibrahim, from Jordan, is a dynamic individual driven by an energy that fuels her love for new adventures and a profound passion for making the world a better place. Armed with a degree in English Language and Literature and currently pursuing an MA in Audiovisual Translation and Accessibility Studies, Aseel is a multifaceted advocate who engages in various impactful initiatives.

Aseel actively contributes to the She Leads Jordan country network, where her commitment to girls' and young women's empowerment is evidently clear.
Aseel is part of the regional advisory board of the She Leads Programme in Jordan, making her to continue adding her voice and efforts to shape impactful strategies for the betterment of the girls and young women.

As a member of the She Leads UN Youth cohort, Aseel is involved in global initiatives, contributing to the broader discourse on crucial issues.
Beyond advocacy, she plays a role in the entrepreneurship scene as a Talent Management Coordinator in Hult Prize Jordan's national team, showcasing her commitment to fostering innovation.

Aseel is actively engaged in teaching English in refugee camps in Jordan. Supported by projects from GIZ and local associations, she particularly focuses on young people and children, implementing non-traditional teaching methods.
She fiercely advocates for the elimination of employment and education gender gaps in Jordan. Her initiatives include conducting training on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for university students and academic settings.

Aseel passionately advocates for creating spaces that embrace diversity, ensure equity, foster inclusion, and promote accessibility.
Recognizing the transformative power of education, Aseel Ibrahim continues to contribute her quota to initiatives that drive education development, ensuring equal access and quality learning opportunities.
She channels her efforts towards empowering girls and young women, believing in the transformative impact that empowered women can have on society.

In addition to her legal pursuits, Diarra serves as a coordinator at "Initiatives pour enfants Mali," an association committed to safeguarding and promoting the well-being of children and vulnerable individuals. Her role extends beyond legal frameworks as she actively contributes to actions ensuring the welfare of those in vulnerable situations.
