The difference a year makes.
One year ago, we were at a crossroads. Our planned work on climate mitigation was not viable without significant subsidies and greenwashing for and from the voluntary carbon markets - something we were not willing to do.
Some gave up on us. In a way, that helped - it forced us to look forward to new techno-economic models, which ended up revealing viable pathways forward.
We cut every expense to the limit. We changed our plans to focus on biotech and bioconversion. In June/ July of 2023, a few friends rallied around us, and helped us raise enough funds for a couple of key experiments, which we ran in a community lab in Queens, NY. And with that, we got selected by SOSV through IndieBio NY and HAX NJ, and moved even faster.
Today, we have build a mini bio-refinery to take methane AND CO2 - basically the full biogas stream without wasting the CO2 - and convert to methanol. And with that, we continue, fast and focused on a single molecule, made economically with renewable feedstock.
We have also cut dependency on animal waste - we are focused on wastewater treatment facilities and industrial waste streams.
