Sanjay Anand Charitable Foundation

Sanjay Anand Charitable Foundation The primary purpose of the foundation is to provide medical treatment, surgery, and rehabilitative services to the poor of India.

The goal is to assist the poor by not only getting them operated on but also providing them with free post-care as part of the service. The foundation was set up in 1995 by Mr Sunil Anand and his wife, Mrs Anu Anand, in the memory of their seventeen-year-old son Sanjay Anand. He died in a car accident in Staten Island, New York. They offered their son’s organs and tissues to help heal and save a g

roup of strangers. This generosity helped save the lives of many people. It also helped keep Sanjay’s legacy alive in the hearts and bodies of all those who benefitted. The New York Regional Transplant program saved over 300 individuals with Sanjay’s gift of vital organs and tissues. Disabled children were able to walk with his donation of bones to the greater Metropolitan Bone Bank. Two people were given the gift of sight through the eye bank. The New York Cornell Medical Centre was able to help a burn victim with skin grafts. Inspired by Organ and Tissue donations which helped hundreds of people, Sunil and Anu Anand established the Sanjay Anand Charitable Foundation Inc (SACF) in New York and Sanjay Anand Charitable Trust in New Delhi, India in 1995.
