BPW International was represented by Nolwenn Germain, our representative to UNESCO, at the 225th session of the UNESCO Executive Board in Paris, held on 07 October.

Pictured with Nolwenn Germain is Svetlomira Stoyanova, President of the NGO-UNESCO Liaison Committee, whose work helps strengthen dialogue and cooperation between UNESCO and its non-governmental partners.

The discussions emphasized the essential role of NGOs in connecting UNESCO’s priorities with communities worldwide, particularly in an increasingly complex and fragmented global environment.

An important outcome was the approval of amendments concerning UNESCO’s relations with non-governmental partners, reinforcing opportunities for dialogue and cooperation.

For BPW International, the meeting also highlighted the importance of strengthening collaboration between BPW national federations and National Commissions for UNESCO, encouraging greater engagement and impact at national and local levels.

Through our representation at UNESCO, BPW International continues to strengthen international partnerships, amplify women’s voices, and contribute to a more inclusive and sustainable future.

On 5 October 2026, BPW International contributed to the organization of the side event “Connecting Generations: Rediscovering the Value of Our Elders in an Aging Society,” held at the United Nations in Vienna in observance of the International Day of Older Persons.

Our BPW representatives to the United Nations in Vienna, Rita Assogna and Christine Schwarz-Fuchs, participated as panelists, contributing to important discussions on ageing, dignity, intergenerational solidarity, and social inclusion.

The event highlighted the importance of lifelong learning, digital safety, meaningful social participation, and stronger connections between generations, recognizing the valuable experience and contributions of older persons to society.

At BPW International, we believe that building a sustainable and inclusive future means creating opportunities for every generation to contribute, connect, and thrive.

Every girl deserves the freedom to dream, the opportunity to learn, and the power to shape her own future.

Today, on the International Day of the Girl Child, we celebrate the potential of girls everywhere: future leaders, entrepreneurs, scientists, innovators, businesswomen, and changemakers.

But dreams need more than encouragement. They need rights, education, protection, opportunities, and a world that believes in every girl’s potential.

This year, the United Nations calls for action to end child marriage and invest in girls’ rights, reminding us that no girl’s future should be limited by discrimination, violence, or barriers to opportunity.

At BPW International, we believe that empowering the women of tomorrow begins with investing in the girls of today. When girls have the freedom to learn, grow, and make their own choices, they can transform not only their own lives but also their communities and the world.

Let’s build a future where every girl has the freedom to choose who she wants to become.

As business and professional women, our days are often filled with responsibilities, decisions, goals and caring for others. But in the midst of everything we do, there is one priority we cannot overlook: our own health.

This Breast Cancer Awareness Month, BPW International encourages women everywhere to make time for themselves. Stay informed, know your body, follow the screening recommendations appropriate for you, and seek professional medical advice whenever you have concerns.

Taking care of yourself is not something to leave for later. Your health matters — today and every day.

And let’s remind one another to make the appointment, have the conversation and encourage the women around us to take care of themselves too. 💗
