Congratulations to Sohaila for winning this year’s Women in Action leadership award presented by Uplifting Afghan Girls!

Sohaila was chosen for this award because of her exemplary leadership this school year. She demonstrated courage by starting her school’s first club dedicated to constructive dialogue, called “The Civility Club: How to Agree to Disagree.” Sohaila was also Operation Her Future’s first lead student advocate, traveling to Capitol Hill in Washington, DC to advocate for Afghan girls’ education. UAG is proud to honor Sohaila with this award as she uses her voice to uplift her community and girls around the world.

UAG students have unlimited talent! We were thrilled to gather our community to support our very talented artist, Dunya. Her artwork proves that Afghan girls are capable of incredible things when they’re given the freedom to create without fear.
