After we lost our beloved Darius to senseless gun violence on June 20, 2022, Mayor Eric Adams honored him by proclaiming August 8th — his birthday — as Darius Lee Day in NYC.

This proclamation recognizes Darius as more than an extraordinary athlete — it honors his character, generosity, leadership, and the love he shared with everyone around him!

His name, his light, and his legacy will live on forever in this city and in our hearts. ✨

The 3rd Annual Darius Lee Memorial Classic was a huge success! 💙🏀 Thank you to every family member, friend, volunteer, and supporter who helped make this our biggest and most meaningful event yet 🏀

From bounce houses, cotton candy, and icy treats to our book bag & sneaker giveaway — the kids had a blast, and the park was filled with joy, love, and unity. Just the kind of day Darius would’ve loved.

The games were full of heart, hustle, and community spirit — honoring Darius’s legacy both on and off the court.

🙏 Big thanks to our community leaders, amazing vendors, and generous sponsors for making it all possible.
 We’ll see you next year for an even bigger 4th Annual! 💙

Today we honor the legacy of our beloved Darius Lee, at the 3rd Annual Darius Lee Memorial Classic. 🕊️🏀

What started as a moment of loss has grown into a movement of love, unity, and purpose. Darius was more than an athlete—he was a light in our lives, a symbol of perseverance, and a gentle giant whose presence continues to inspire.

This Classic is not just a game—it’s a celebration of his life, his dreams, and the impact he left on this world. We gather to remember, to uplift, and to continue building the legacy he deserved.

Thank you to everyone who continues to show up, support, and love in his name. His spirit lives on through each play, every cheer, and all the hearts he touched. ❤️💫

Today marks 3 years since our hearts were forever shattered. 💔

We lost our amazing, loving, and talented Darius — affectionately known as DLee23 — to a senseless act of gun violence. Not a day goes by that we don’t feel the weight of his absence. We are not okay, but we hold tightly to the love, memories, and the legacy he left behind.

Please continue to keep us in your prayers as we learn to navigate this new normal. Your love and support mean more than words can say.

We look forward to honoring Darius’s life and legacy at the 3rd Annual DLee23 Memorial Classic, happening on August 2, 2025. Let’s come together once again to celebrate his light, his passion, and everything he stood for. 💙🕊️🏀
