Recently I received a couple of posts indicating that I have used the name of my former mentor in conjunction with the my productions. To clarify, at no time has my former, long deceased, mentor been attributed by me to producing or being involved with any productions associated with me or the companies I direct. He has never had anything to do with any of my productions and I have never claimed otherwise. He is referenced as having been my mentor, I dedicated my very first Aida (in conjunction with my first company) to him in 2004, and I refer to him as having been an inspiration. That’s it. This is an accusation that is blatantly false, and those responsible have now been blocked from this site. That aside, I wish them well in getting on with their own plans to produce operas. Heaven only knows, in my book, we need as many opera and classical music performances as we can get.
