Thank you to the New York Giants for an incredible Salute to Service game today, where Veterans enjoyed a powerful display of patriotism from the National Anthem, to the flyover, to Veterans taking the field for a halftime relay race. Members of the NYPD Marine Corps Association showed up in full force and did not disappoint.

The NYPD Marine Corps Association gathered at One Police Plaza to celebrate the United States Marine Corps 250th birthday, honoring the legacy, discipline, and tradition that continue to define our Corps. We extend our deepest gratitude to retired Sergeant Cohen, Korean War veteran, and Elliot Ackerman, Silver Star recipient, for joining us and sharing their stories of courage and service.

To all Marines past and present, happy birthday and thank you for your unwavering commitment to our nation.

The NYPD Marine Corps Association attended the Bench Unveiling, Award Ceremony, and Luncheon honoring United States Marine Corps Master Sergeant Albert “Big Al” Thompson, a Purple Heart recipient and longtime member of the NYPD. Alongside the PBA, DEA, SBA, American Legion Post 460, and the National Law Enforcement Foundation. We pay tribute to his lifelong dedication to service, family, and community.

The NYPD Marine Corps Association extends a huge thank you to everyone who came out to support our Cigar Night and Toys for Tots fundraiser at Barclay Rex.

Your generosity and camaraderie made this event a great success, helping bring holiday cheer to children in need while honoring the spirit of service and brotherhood that unites us all.

The NYPD Marine Corps Association proudly invites you to celebrate the 250th Marine Corps Birthday at NYPD Headquarters Auditorium on November 7th, 2025, at 1100 hours.

This year’s guest of honor is Elliot Ackerman, a veteran of the Second Battle of Fallujah, Silver Star recipient, Marine Special Operations veteran, former CIA officer, and best-selling author.

Join us as we recognize our award recipients and honor the proud legacy of the United States Marine Corps.

After the ceremony, continue the celebration at Jeremy’s Ale House, 228 Front Street, New York, NY 10038, from 1300 to 1600 hours.
It’s going to be a great day. We hope to see you all there.

Join us on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM at Barclay Rex, 126 Pearl Street, New York City.

Tickets are $120 per person and include two ci**rs, an open bar, and hors d’oeuvres. Guests are encouraged to bring an unwrapped toy.

Sergeant Michael S. Curtin and Police Officer Vincent “Vinny” Danz were both United States Marines who continued their service as members of the NYPD Emergency Service Unit. On September 11, 2001, they gave their lives while rescuing victims at the World Trade Center, embodying the courage, sacrifice, and commitment to duty that defined them as Marines and as police officers.
We also remember all those who lost their lives that day, and honor all who answered the call to help.

On International Women Veterans Day, we proudly recognize the NYPD Marine Association's very own Master Sergeant Gloria Kim for her outstanding service to our nation and her continued dedication to our city as a Police Officer in the 75 Precinct and the NYPD Ceremonial Unit. Special thanks to the Policewomen’s Endowment Association , American Legion Post 460 , the New York Law Enforcement Foundation , and the Wounded Warrior Project for making this meaningful event possible.
