As our healthcare workers continue to battle the Omicron surge, families face rising food prices, and local restaurants see a drastic decline in sales, we’ve been hard at work connecting the dots between these problems. Last week, our Queens partners Donovan's Pub of Woodside and El Parador Caleno Resturant provided daily lunches to Elmhurst Hospital, one of the early pandemic crisis centers. At the same time, LoLo's Seafood Shack delivered delicious dinners to pediatric residents at nearby Mount Sinai Hospital and to vulnerable seniors at West Side Federation for Senior Housing Harlem supportive housing programs. And in the Bronx, our partners including Georgina Restaurant delivered 300 meals to the Latino Pastoral Action Center -LPAC!

In December, a team of volunteers and donors from Morgan Stanley's Investment Solutions Diversity & Inclusion Committee funded and delivered 150 hot, delicious meals from Sylvia's Restaurant, the Queen of Soulfood to the hardworking staff at New York Presbyterian Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital. From doctors and nurses to housekeeping and facilities staff, our healthcare workers have made heroic efforts to keep us all safe throughout the pandemic and they need the support of their surrounding community now more than ever as they face staffing shortages and increased burnout. We want to say a big thank you to the teams at Morgan Stanley Investment Solutions and Sylvia’s for providing nourishment and comfort to our healthcare heroes during this challenging time.

Over the past few weeks, we’ve been checking in with many of the doctors and nurses we got to know when the pandemic first hit 19 months ago. They are still in the fight, caring for COVID-19 patients at hospitals across New York. Like all of us, they wish the pandemic were over, but it’s not.

That’s why we’re excited to announce that, thanks to your generous donations, we will be providing over 700 meals to emergency rooms across New York in honor of National ER Nurses Week. Our restaurant partners are excited to provide a much-needed boost to in their communities while also working to keep their businesses resilient and staff employed.
