A girl’s future is often shaped by the voices she hears at home.

When families believe in a girl’s education, she is more likely to stay in school, continue learning, and have greater opportunities to choose her own path.

This Global Day of Parents, we celebrate the parents, caregivers, and family members who champion girls’ education every day.

This Mother’s Day, we celebrate mothers in rural India who are embracing a second chance at education.

For many, education stopped too soon as responsibilities and caregiving took over. But today, many are choosing to begin again, rebuilding their confidence and showing their children that it is never too late to start over.

Because when a mother returns to education, it can shape the future of an entire generation.

This morning, over breakfast in Oxford, our founder Safeena Husain joined the wonderful for a conversation on her book, Every Last Girl: A Journey to Educate India’s Forgotten Daughters.

On the sidelines of Skoll World Forum, the packed room reflected just how strongly girls’ education continues to resonate. The audience stayed engaged throughout as Safeena spoke about building Educate Girls and bringing 2 million girls back to education. The questions kept coming, turning the session into a thoughtful exchange that carried well beyond the room.

If your feed feels a little fuller than usual today, you’re probably not alone. Between the wishes and celebrations, it’s easy to keep scrolling.

But it can also be a moment to pause. While many of us celebrate progress, many women and girls still wait for something more basic — the chance to return to education.

Because when someone gives a girl that chance, the gains do not stop with her. Education builds confidence, opens doors, and creates opportunities that reach families and communities.

In many ways, that’s what this year’s International Women’s Day theme reminds us: Give to Gain.

Happy International Women’s Day.
