is a 501(c)(3) not for profit organization dedicated to servicing children, and families with Sickle Cell disease, Thalassemia, the Trait, and other chronic conditions. Established in 1978 as the Queens Sickle Cell Community Network, we subsequently became incorporated in 1997 and established our name as the Queens Sickle Cell Advocacy Network (QSCAN). Since then the organization has expanded and

renamed itself to the New York State Sickle Cell Advocacy Network (NYSSCAN). Mission and Vision:
Our mission is always to have a deep sense of commitment; we focus on those with Sickle Cell conditions. We provide a clear sense of direction for families and individuals, enabling them to participate actively in their communities and freely access their healthcare needs.
