The Warren Township Education Foundation (WTEF) is a non-profit organization serving as an independent source to raise funds from private and corporate donors to support enhancements to K-8th grade classroom and curricular initiatives. These may include but are not limited to STEAM, educational programs, technological innovations, staff development, and physical asset investments. It operates independent of, but in partnership with, the Warren Township Committee, Board of Education, schools and PTOs. The WTEF hopes to enhance educational excellence once again for Warren Township schools and students, as well as maintain (and hopefully increase) home values, educational quality and intellectual rigor across our community. It was initially created in the 1990’s and flourished through the early aughts, sadly losing steam and going into hibernation status. It has been fully reinstated as a 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization and is thrilled to once again tie our community and schools together.
The WTEF looks to cultivate relationships with parents, residents, alumni and local businesses. Our focus is a “Dream Big” concept to prepare students for a competitive, global, interconnected world. The ultimate goal is to fund and support results-driven projects such as tutoring programs and career forums, as well as provide cultural and theatrical arts, science series, creative & interactive opportunities, just to highlight a few. The WTEF’s success will be predicated on the commitment and dedication from community volunteers, as well as generous financial donations necessary to underwrite these projects.
The Mission of The Foundation is to partner with community members and businesses to provide cutting edge enrichment that offers students unique opportunities. The focus will be on “big, bold ideas” aligned with the mission and vision of the Warren Township School District. Members will eventually have opportunities to plan and organize high level fundraising structures and events as well as links to mentorship and partnership programs that support the District’s brand of “Shining Brighter Every Day.” Volunteers who enjoy creative brainstorming, organization and contributions to a long-term vision are welcome and encouraged to participate.
Currently, the Executive Board consists of volunteers, President Heather Silver; Vice Presidents Danielle Lader, Lisa Brady and Felice Goldman; Treasurer Adam Gioia; and first Trustee, Daniel Croson. The Foundation is still in search of a Secretary and additional Trustees. Patricia Zohn is the BOE liaison to the Foundation as well.
