🌿 Happy World Environment Day! Today through June 7th, France opens the gates to over 2,800 parks and gardens across Europe for the 23rd edition of Rendez-vous aux jardins, a celebration of living heritage, landscape, and the art of the garden.

France is home to some of the world's most iconic garden traditions, from the grand geometric masterpieces of Le Nôtre at Versailles to intimate medieval herb gardens. With over 400 gardens officially classified as Jardins Remarquables, these spaces are living works of art, as much a part of French cultural heritage as museums or monuments. 🌺

We're proud to support French projects bringing this world to life.

🌸 Fondation Parcs et Jardins de France works to preserve and promote France's extraordinary parks and gardens, championing their history, art, and social, educational, and therapeutic role across Europe and worldwide.

🌻 Art & Jardins Hauts-de-France uses landscape and artistic creation to celebrate remembrance, culture, and biodiversity across the Hauts-de-France and Grand Est regions.

🏛️ Musée de Cluny, the only complete surviving medieval hôtel particulier, is recreating the Abbot's Garden that has been lost since the 19th century. Using historic sources to restore its original boundaries, this ornamental garden will be brought back to life as it existed in the late Middle Ages, as part of the museum's visitor experience. Studies begin in 2026, with completion anticipated in spring 2028. U.S. donors can help make it happen!

On Global Running Day, we celebrate the worldwide community united by running, not only for the connections, achievements, and milestones that come with it, but for the generosity it inspires.

At Friends of Fondation de France, we've seen what determined runners can accomplish through philanthropy, rallying their community to raise funds for French charitable projects that are meaningful to them. We're proud to support an organization that brings trail running and charitable impact together, taking it to new heights, literally. UTMB Cares, an initiative led by the UTMB World Series, supports charitable and environmental projects with positive impact on the communities where their races take place, from the iconic Mont Blanc region in Chamonix to trails across five continents. From the 2022 Mosquito Fire Relief project during the HOKA Canyons Endurance Run by UTMB, helping reforest the land affected by one of California's largest wildfires, to an initiative introducing school children to the beauty of the Mont Blanc region in UTMB's homebase, UTMB Cares turns trail running into a true force for good.

Cancer research was at the heart of French-American philanthropy in 2025, and for good reason. From essential prevention research, to pioneering work toward new treatments, to bringing art and music to patients beyond the walls of traditional care, our partners are advancing the fight against cancer with the support of U.S. donors.

France is a global leader in cancer research, ranking 3rd worldwide in clinical trial interventions and 7th in cancer-related scientific publications, and home to some of the world's foremost cancer institutes. But French-American philanthropy goes beyond medical treatment, offering hope, connection, and even moments of joy in difficult care journeys.

Let us take you inside the organizations whose work our donors helped support in 2025.

We are proud to share our 2026 Report: A Year of French-American Philanthropy. 🇫🇷🇺🇸

Marking our 25th anniversary, 2025 was a year of record generosity and a growing community of donors and partners committed to the enduring friendship between our two countries. This report takes you inside five focus areas that shaped the year: from cancer research and new ways of thinking about our oceans to technology for the common good, international solidarity, and the art of transmission between heritage and modernity.

We are deeply grateful to the partners and donors who make this work possible.

🍎 This , we're celebrating a project where heritage and nature are inseparable.

At Mont Saint-Michel, one of France's most iconic UNESCO World Heritage Sites, a conservatory orchard of rare and historic Norman apple varieties grows quietly near the visitor center. These trees aren't just a nod to Normandy's deep-rooted apple culture. They are living ecosystems, supporting pollinators, preserving genetic diversity, and contributing to the ecological richness of this extraordinary tidal landscape.

But climate change and disease have damaged many of the orchard's trees over time. Through Friends of Fondation de France, U.S. donors can help restore it by adopting an apple tree, supporting both biodiversity and the living heritage of one of the world's most treasured sites.

When we protect a place like Mont Saint-Michel, we protect more than stone and history. We protect the ecosystems and traditions that make it truly alive.

"Trust is essential to giving abroad... when you can trust a nonprofit, you can trust a project, then it's easy." — Domitille Marchal Lemoine

We're grateful to Rick Peck for featuring our Executive Director, Domitille Marchal Lemoine, on his podcast Money to Give 🎙️

The friendship between France and the United States has always been built on generosity — from French support during the American Revolution, to the gift of the Statue of Liberty, to the outpouring of American donations after the Notre-Dame fire. Yet for many years, few French organizations could fundraise in the U.S. This changed in 2000 when Friends of Fondation de France was created. Today, we are proud to support over 200 French projects.

In the episode, Domitille and Rick explore how cross-border philanthropy works, why trust is at the heart of international giving, and what makes French-American generosity so unique. You'll also hear about some of the extraordinary projects American donors are supporting in France today.

As National Volunteer Month comes to a close, we want to take a moment to recognize the invaluable role of volunteers at the heart of philanthropy. 🤝
Volunteers do far more than give their time. They bring impactful projects to new audiences, build community around shared values, and turn individual generosity into a collective movement.

At Friends of Fondation de France, we've had the privilege of witnessing remarkable grassroots support — from high school students fundraising through their French classes, to individuals running marathons for a project they believe in. Their dedication inspired us to create a more structured way to support these community-led initiatives.

We recently launched a volunteer program giving those in the U.S. the opportunity to become ambassadors for French charitable projects, spanning arts and culture, education, health, environmental conservation, and beyond.
If you've ever wanted to champion a cause that matters to you, we'd love for you to get involved, on your own terms and at your own pace. 💙🇫🇷🇺🇸

Happy International girls in ICT day!🙋‍♀️📚👩‍💻

Access to tech education is a powerful lever for economic and social empowerment, but worldwide, women hold only 25% of jobs in the technology sector. This leaves individuals, families, and whole communities behind—but education can be the key to changing this.

Today, we are proud to spotlight our partner Passerelles Numériques, who uses technical skill education as a tool to fight poverty in Cambodia, Vietnam, the Philippines, and Madagascar. They focus on promoting gender parity across their programs, ensuring 50% of their students are girls 🏋️‍♀️ while providing access to menstrual support, inspiring female role models and alumni networks, family engagement, and other initiatives.

Creating more opportunities for girls in ICT means more than a number—it makes a meaninful difference in ending global poverty. For more information about 's impact and how to be a part of it, visit their page on our website!

🌍 This Earth Day, we're grateful to not only witness our planet's beauty, but to listen to it.

's new album Gaïa brings together 17 works by 16 contemporary composers — a "song of warning, a hymn to this threatened beauty, a prayer for future generations."

Rooted in Gautier's upbringing in the French Alps, the album is a reflection of his deep love for this unique and fragile landscape. This year, its music video, filmed in the Mont Blanc Massif, was screened at UNESCO Paris to open the 2026 World Glacier Day celebrations, featuring a live introductory program created and performed by laureates.

Gautier founded the Fondation Gautier Capuçon in 2022 to support the next generation of musicians. Since its inception, it has supported 36 young artists in launching their careers while taking part in mission-driven initiatives giving back to communities and the planet.

We are proud to support Fondation Gautier Capuçon in their U.S. fundraising. 🎻Learn more about the foundation and the young artists it supports on our website.
