I have read many teachings on the armor of God that the Apostle Paul wrote about in the book of Ephesians, but most to me, atleast, made it more complicated then it is. God said that he would take the simple things and confound the wise. Paul when writing about the armor of God was just teaching something that he had already taught, he just explained it using the armor of a Roman soldier. When a soldier during any century wore the uniform of their military, people did not see individuals, they saw the country in which it represented. Paul in different places wrote that we are to clothe ourselves in Christ, to put on Christ etc. Jesus said that he would be in us and we would be in him. This is the same thing Paul was teaching with the illustration of a Roman soldier fully dressed in armor. Paul said that we were baptized into Christ. Think about this for a moment please; when a person drowns, they drown because they can't hold their breathe any longer. At this point the water is not just all around him/her it is now in them as well, this is what baptism represents. Christ in us and we in Christ. The armor of the Roman soldier is just a different way of saying that you are in Christ. In 1st or 2nd John it is stated like this; as Jesus is so are we .... This means we are in the truth (Jesus ), we are covered in his righteousness, we can walk in his peace, which is eternal and unfaiding, we have the very same faith as Jesus ( as he is so are we ), our salvation is not and can not be abtaiand through self effert, it is a gift and the heavenly does not repent when he gives a gift, it belongs to the recipient for ever and the very weapon that he used to defeat the devil he has given to us, the word of God. The word of God will not come back void but will acomplish that in which we send it to do. Mark 11: 23, 24 says that if we believe what we say will happen, it will happen. You have what you say. The word of God is pure and perfect and this is what it produces. Who's words are you speaking? We are in Christ and our enemy does not see us but he sees Jesus, he is our armor and he can not be defeated. Amen
