L4L Summer 2026 Wrapped 🎵

From first days to final goodbyes, our Ladders4Leaders interns made this summer one to remember. From new skills and experiences to new connections and unforgettable moments, this summer was filled with growth both in and outside of the workplace 📸

A huge thank you to all of our incredible interns, worksites, and the DYCD and Commonpoint staff who helped make this experience possible. Your time, support, and dedication made this summer meaningful for so many young people.

Here’s to everything we accomplished, everything we learned, and everything that comes next! See you in 2027 🔜

Exploring the possibilities of AI and technology, Brikhna Khan gained valuable insight into the many career paths that connect her interests 💻✈️

At BlackRock, Brikhna worked on the Aladdin Data side of the business, where she focused on how technology and AI are used within the company. She worked on two AI-related projects, researching each topic, developing her ideas, and presenting her work to BlackRock employees. For one project, Brikhna focused on a current problem facing the company and aimed to create “a starting point or foundation for a possible solution” that the team could continue developing. The experience also encouraged Brikhna to look beyond one specific career path. While she had previously been focused on aviation mechanics, her time at BlackRock showed her how technology, engineering, and AI can connect to aviation. She shares that the experience “really opened my mind to more possibilities” and gave her “sight to explore different fields instead of limiting myself to one specific path.”

We’re grateful to Brikhna for sharing her experience and look forward to seeing how she continues to explore the intersection of aviation, technology, engineering, and AI! 🚀

Turning ideas into real world solutions, Angela Chan is making the most of her summer as a Business & Data Strategist Intern at Commonpoint 📊

Angela works within Commonpoint’s Impact, Research, and Evaluation department and is part of the workforce development group. As part of her capstone project, she and her team are developing a year-long initiative focused on expanding access to employment opportunities and pre-employment training for NYC graduates, with a $200,000 budget. Angela also shares that she has contributed meaningful ideas and presentations to the organization and has used LinkedIn to help more NYC students learn about the opportunities Commonpoint provides. Through her experience as a Business & Data Strategist consultant, Angela has grown more interested in pursuing consulting alongside her goal of working in finance. She shares that the internship has also made her “more inclined to work in corporate offices,” giving her a new perspective on the career paths available to her.
