It's been three years since the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade. While that tragic decision made things worse, we know that the abortion access crisis has been decades in the making. That's why Practical Support Organizations (PSOs) exist (and have always existed): to make abortion accessible where it otherwise wouldn't be. Today and every day, we honor them. 💗✊🏾

While we know slavery in the U.S. has never truly ended, we honor the legacy and contemporary fight for freedom. Juneteenth commemorates the final enforcement of the Emancipation Proclamation in Texas at the end of the American Civil War in 1865. Our collective liberation is interconnected and requires collaboration. This we celebrate how far we have come, and we mobilize for how far we need to go.

Last week, Congressional Republicans introduced legislation to codify the Hyde Amendment and permanently bar many low-income folks from financial support for abortion care. We break down the Hyde Amendment, its discriminatory past, and why this harmful legislation has to go.

The Hyde Amendment, which bans federal insurance coverage of abortion care, is the most far-reaching health insurance coverage ban, hindering access for millions of low-income folks, particularly Black and brown women.
