Garden of Healing Foundation successfully completed four days of participation at the Commission on the Status of Women at the United Nations.

Founder Nicole and Garden of Healing Trinidad and Tobago Representative Kathy-Ann spent the week attending discussions and engaging with global leaders and advocates working toward gender equality, justice, and the empowerment of women and girls.

They were also present to witness Trinidad and Tobago’s national representative participating in the global dialogue.

Reflecting on the experience, Nicole shared, “I believe this is a first step of many. I believe every year will be better than the last, with new experiences and God’s guidance.”

Garden of Healing Foundation looks forward to continuing to learn, grow, and contribute to these important conversations in the years ahead.

🌍 Garden of Healing Foundation at the United Nations

We are proud to share that Nicole Bradshaw, Founder of Garden of Healing Foundation (GOHF), and Kathy-Ann Constantine, Garden of Healing Trinidad and Tobago (GOHTT) Representative, are attending sessions of the 70th session of the Commission on the Status of Women at the United Nations Headquarters in New York this week.

Hosted by UN Women, the Commission on the Status of Women brings together global leaders, organizations, and advocates to advance gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls. Each year, representatives from governments, UN agencies, and civil society gather to share perspectives, strengthen partnerships, and contribute to the global dialogue on women’s rights and well-being.

Nicole and Kathy-Ann are honored to represent both Garden of Healing Foundation and Garden of Healing Trinidad and Tobago, engaging in conversations and learning from leaders and advocates from around the world who are committed to improving the lives of women and girls.

Their presence reflects our continued commitment to creating spaces for healing, empowerment, and meaningful support for women in our communities.

We look forward to sharing insights and inspiration from this important global gathering.

✨ Together, we continue the work of healing, empowerment, and advocacy.

🌿💜 Reflections from Belize: Strength, Connection & Real Talk 💜🌿

Nicole’s recent trip to Belize was deeply insightful. She shared how meeting the former Mayor Sharon Palacio helped her form real connections, bridging cultures, shared values, and a united commitment to raising awareness about abuse against women.

“The women who are abused are not taken seriously, and many tend to go back to their abusers.”

This concern is backed by research: one study found that about 66% of women in a domestic violence shelter reported returning to their abuser at least once.

Even more alarmingly, women who do return are at a higher risk of lethal violence.

Separation can be one of the most dangerous times, up to 75% of domestic violence–related homicides happen after a woman leaves her abuser.

Nicole and the Mayor acknowledged the urgency of this issue, the systemic neglect, the cycles of return, and the life-threatening danger many women face. Despite how heavy this reality is, their conversation was also full of hope: a shared mission to build safety, support, and healing.

Thank you to everyone who’s standing with us as we take steps to address this crisis - together, we are building something greater than a foundation. We are building a movement. 🌍✨

🌿💜 Giving Back with Love in Toco 💜🌿

During her recent trip to Trinidad, our founder Nicole Bradshaw visited the rural village of Toco, where she and a small team had the privilege of meeting with women in the community and delivering hampers filled with essential groceries.

This initiative is more than just providing supplies — it’s about showing care, solidarity, and support to women who continue to rise above challenges every day. ✨

We share these moments with gratitude, not to highlight need, but to honor the strength and resilience of the women we serve. Together, we are planting seeds of hope, healing, and empowerment. 🌸
