The people have spoken. So have the and . And now that the first New Yorkers have received the vaccine, our city can finally begin to bounce back — the point: we can’t wait to turn the page on 2020.
New Yorkers are used to struggle, we’re used to hardship. We know we’re tougher than most. With the advent of COVID-19, many of us have lost friends, lost family, lost jobs, been forced to shutdown the businesses we built with our very own blood, sweat, and tears.
We’ve watched as many of our friends, our neighbors have left for greener pastures, while those who’ve stayed wonder when is the madness gonna end — wondering when can we go back to living, working, and raising our family free from fear?
Our schools have been closed... then they haven’t... then they’re closed again. Now, our children will inevitably pay the price for our city’s and our state’s failed leadership. Enough with the games. It’s time to get something done.
If this year has taught us anything, it’s that we need each other... and we need sleep. Lots of sleep.
Next year will be daunting, that’s for sure. We’re drowning in tens of billions of debt and deficits — renters need relief, businesses need backup. We need leaders who can answer these challenges with common sense, with practicality, with real solutions... not just rhetoric.
We’re fed up, we’re frustrated, and we’re ready to fight. We’re ready to pitch in and help save the city we all love — the city we know we can be again. Join us.
Dare to dream.
