Al Hamdulillah, my dear brother in Islam, Tariq Subhani, has worked tirelessly supporting my many projects, from “United for Change” to building up my page. In the process he has never asked for anything in exchange, ever seeking the good pleasure of Allah. Recently, his brother-in-law tragically and suddenly passed away, falling from a ladder while doing routine work on his house. He leaves his wife and son behind. Let’s show them as well as Brother Tariq our love and support by getting behind this campaign.

As'Salaam Alaikum,

Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un!

I was very saddened to learn that our dear brother Amadou Shakur passed away in Charlotte a few days back. I was introduced to him by Imam Zaid Shakir several years ago when we were planning for our first United For Change conference in DC. Ever since then we worked very closely on all the UFC conferences. We spent hours together planning the events as he was always in charge of developing the program content. He was a brilliant man with a big heart. I learned a lot from him and together we helped shape our conferences, which dealt with domestic violence, poverty, Islamophobia and other pressing issues of our day.

On behalf chairman Imam Zaid and the entire United for Change family, we ask that you recite Al-Fatiha and make dua for his forgiveness. May Allah grant him the highest level of paradise, ameen.
