We want to start by thanking our two sponsors for this mornings breakfast. Uncle Matty's Eatery for their $100 donation towards supplies for the breakfast and Local Homestead Products LLC for their donation of all the bacon and sausage. The kids and senior members who assisted put in 5+ hours of work in preparation and cooking to make things go smoothly. We appreciate everyone coming out to support the kids! Merry Christmas to all. The end of September the juniors held their biannual sleep in. The kids stayed at the fire house for 24hrs doing house chores, bonding over meals and getting CPR certified. At October monthly meeting they joined the senior department in their training about Carbon Monoxide. On 10/30 the senior held a training house burning where our members got to practice use hand lines.

Thursday 9/8/22 our Juniors had their monthly meeting with training following. That night we discussed the different types of extinguishers & what type of fires they’re used for. We went over the technique use for extinguishing a fire with an extinguisher. P.A.S.S: Pull(pull the pin) Aim( aim the nozzle at the base of the fire) Squeeze & Sweep( squeeze the trigger and sweep the nozzle back and forth).

Thursday 7/14 out juniors were back in action after carnival with our monthly meeting and training. On the menu that night was ladders. FF Master, FF Ruth and Probationary FF Mader taught the kids has to carry, throw, & how to safely work off a ladder.

The New Windsor Junior Fire Department will be hosting a flea market this year on July 8th & 9th from 12:00-5:00pm.Food will be available onsite including Hot Dogs, Hamburgers, and Ice Cream for purchase. We are currently looking for vendor to make this a success.VENDORS ARE NEEDED!!! We have 30 tables for vendors to purchase. Please email [email protected] for purchase of table(s). Prices are as followed:

Price for table(s) for a single day
1 Table - $25 for one day
2 Tables - $20 for one day

Price for table(s) for both days of the event
1 Table - $20 for both days
2 Tables - $15 for both days

This event will be rain or shine!! Weather permitting it will be hosted on the Carnival Ground. If it rains the event will be held in our social hall, Windsor Station. Vendors are responsible for their own tent to cover their table with shade if they wish to do so.

Thursday May 12th our members took a trip and met Gamber & Community Fire Company juniors at our county’s training center to use the sprinkler prop. Chief Byron Welker discussed the different types of sprinklers, how each different sprinkler gets activated, and how to properly plug the sprinklers. After first trying it without the water on the kids were eager to try it like a real life scenario. Thanks again to Gamber & Community Fire Company Juniors for joining us!

Two weeks ago we held our monthly meeting with training after. We discussed upcoming fundraisers for the rest of the year so keep your eyes open for advertisments. As our training we did follow the hose line. The goal was to have the kids blindfolded and use tips & tricks to get out of the "burning building".
