My mom - Maritza Iberico-Reiss would be appalled - I confused the Spanish and French languages when creating her website and misspelled VIVRE. I wrote it in Spanish instead of in French. At least when I registered with the State I spelled it correctly.

She is also laughing up in heaven and giving me one of her infamous looks because she knows I am a horrendous speller in ALL LANGUAGES.

Sorry mom but I have faith despite my spelling error the Universe will deliver and help you continue to support students studying the art of language for many years to come!

Donations at the moment can be made via paypal

We're in the process of getting approved for Facebook fundraisers. This will not probably be a few week process since they have to re-do the application with updated spelling. Please consider making a donation for this holiday season to support students who show a passion for language like my mother Maritza Iberico-Reiss and will be studying language in college.

Help support Joie de Vivir MIR Inc. by donating or sharing with your friends.

Joie de Vivir is an expression in French to describe situations and people who simply are joyful and cheerful in life. This was an expression friends, family, fellow colleagues and students of Maritza Iberico Reiss used to describe her demeanor and the vibe she exuded from her core in life.

This page is dedicated Maritza – a mother, sister, aunt, friend, kind spirit, generous human and a Spanish teacher at Herricks High School in New Hyde Park and part-time professor at Queens College of New York. In life, she was guided by her mantras: “Look for solutions. Don’t overcomplicate things. Enjoy life. Reach for the stars.’’ Sadly Maritza passed away on April 20, 2020.
