🍂 HELLO, SEPTEMBER! 🍂

September is here, and New Waverly FFA is ready for a BUSY month 🤩 From leadership and chapter activities to livestock shows, fundraising, and a little friendly competition, there is plenty happening around NWFFA!

📅 A few September highlights:
🐾 LDE practices are kicking off — check with your advisor/coach for practice times!
🎓 Sept. 14 – District Leadership Training @ Buffalo High School
🏆 Sept. 19 – Battle of I-45 Ag Olympics @ Alpha Omega Academy
🌭💦 Sept. 21 – FFA Meeting @ 6 PM — hot dogs, chips, drinks & Waterslide Kickball!
🎡 Sept. 22 – Walker County Fair Jamboree
🐷🐑🐐🐮 Sept. 23–30 – State Fair of Texas livestock exhibitors begin hitting the road!
💰 Through Sept. 9 – Seitz Fundraiser — keep selling, selling, selling!

🍦💙💛 What a way to kick off the year! 💛💙🍦

We are SO excited for the year ahead! Our New Waverly FFA Ice Cream Social was a huge hit, with around 80–90 students and parents coming through throughout the evening! 🎉

Students and families made their way through different stations, visited with our FFA officers, enjoyed some ice cream 🍨, and learned more about everything New Waverly FFA has to offer, from leadership and competitions to livestock projects, community service, travel, and so much more!

🌟 We are also excited to welcome our Junior FFA members! Students in grades 3rd–7th can now join and be part of the New Waverly FFA family. We can’t wait to get our younger Bulldogs involved and start building their love for agriculture and FFA!

📸 This group picture is just a snapshot of some of the students who came by throughout the evening! We loved seeing so many new and familiar faces come through the Ag Shop, ask questions, meet our officers, and get excited about the opportunities ahead.

A HUGE thank you to everyone who stopped by and spent part of their evening with us. We are looking forward to an incredible year with New Waverly FFA! 🐾🌾💙💛

🏈🇺🇸 BACK TO OUR FRIDAY NIGHT TRADITIONS! 🇺🇸🏈

There’s just something special about Friday nights in New Waverly! 🤍❤️

One of our favorite traditions is having New Waverly FFA members raise the flags at our home football games. We are honored to have this responsibility and proud to see our students take part in a tradition that represents respect, service, and pride in our school and community. 🇺🇸

Friday night lights, Bulldog football, FFA members, and a community that shows up for its kids, it’s good to be back! 🐾🏈

💙💛 Building the Next Generation of FFA Members! 💛💙

Our New Waverly FFA Officers headed over to New Waverly Junior High to spend some time sharing agriculture, leadership, and FFA with our younger students! 🌾🐾

First, they visited the 7th Grade Employability Skills students, where they talked about FFA, opportunities within agriculture, leadership, teamwork, communication, and skills that will help students in school and their future careers.

Then it was time for Greenhand Camp! 🎉 Our officers spent time with the 8th Grade Principles of Agriculture students introducing them to all things FFA. Students learned about the FFA emblem and traditions, the blue corduroy jacket, LDEs and CDEs, livestock projects, leadership opportunities, chapter activities, and all the different ways they can get involved!

Of course, you can’t have Greenhand Camp without a little FUN! 😎 Our officers wrapped up the camp with games, team-building activities, plenty of laughs, and some friendly competition!

We love watching our officers step up as leaders and help our younger students see just how many opportunities agricultural education and FFA can offer. 💙💛

👀🌾 NEXT UP… LOADING: AGVENTURE DAYS! 🌾👀

We’re headed to our Elementary and Intermediate Schools next, and we can’t wait to educate students Pre-K through 8th grade about agriculture and FFA! 🚜🐄🌱🐓

It’s time to SELL, SELL, SELL! 🎉 New Waverly FFA is kicking off our Seitz Fundraiser, and there is seriously something for everyone!

From smoked turkey, ham, bacon, sausage, fajitas and chicken strips to cookie dough, cake rolls, pretzels, popcorn, snack mixes, seasonings, air fresheners and MORE , you can stock the freezer AND support our FFA members at the same time! 💙💛

👋 If you see a new face around the Ag Shop this week, be sure to say hello to Ms. Elswick! 💙💛

We are excited to welcome Ms. Elswick to our Ag Department as a student teacher from Sam Houston State University! 🧡🤍 She is majoring in Interdisciplinary Agriculture Education and is ready to jump in, work with our students, and experience everything agricultural education and FFA have to offer.

🐮 A few fun facts about Ms. Elswick: her favorite meal is steak and mashed potatoes, her go-to drink is Dr Pepper, she graduated from Cy Woods High School, and her favorite TV show is The Office. Some of her favorite Ag memories are raising livestock and creating projects!

We are excited for our students to get to know her and for her to become part of all the fun, learning, and organized chaos that happens around the Ag Shop! 🔨🌱🐑

💙💛 Give Ms. Elswick a big New Waverly welcome when you see her! She will be here with us for the fall semester!
