🎂 Today we have a double birthday celebration! Please help us wish a big HAPPY BIRTHDAY to both Ms. Sarah Allee and Mrs. Karyn Clemons.

Most of you have known Ms. Allee as the administrative assistant for many years, but this year will be a transition as she moves into the classroom and starts teaching full-time. Ms. Allee is also the event organizer that does so much work to make the MVL Golf Classic and the Gala run smoothly.

Mrs. Karyn Clemons serves MVL by teaching AP English, Language Arts 2, and Desktop Publishing. She also brings her energy and expertise to the fall drama production and coaching Speech.

Thank you both for all you do for MVL, and God's blessings in the years to come!

⚾ Did you know that MVL now has students competing on a summer baseball team? Coach Micah Degner started a DII American Legion baseball team to help our Chargers get more opportunities to play summer baseball together. The Nicollet American Legion has agreed to be the sponsor. You can follow the Post 510 Legion team on the GameChanger app. The next two games are both home, and then after that they hit the road.

🏃 It's MARATHON time and we need your help! 👏
Mr. Ungemach is the kind of person that when you walk away from a conversation with him you will be smiling. So, now it is your turn to help Mr. Ungemach smile.

Last year Mr. Ungemach challenged his homeroom to raise a certain amount of money for mission offerings. Since they accomplished that, he now is running a marathon. Due to their next child arriving soon he won't be doing an official marathon, but on Sunday he will be running a full marathon around New Ulm. Several staff members will be cheering him on at various locations, but we know he would love to see many encouraging faces throughout the marathon. Even if you would catch him at just one cheering station it would mean the world to him.

He will be running his marathon on Sunday, June 7, and his start time is at 7 AM on the bike trail by Applebee's. The map of the New Ulm bike trail (gold line around town) is pictured. Other stops/cheering spots for anyone will be at the following locations:
- the dog park (Valley and 6th S St.)
- Mueller Park/the tunnel
- a park close to Broadway and 22nd N
- Aldi
- possibly New Ulm High School
- MLC
- possibly South Park
- back to Applebee's

We realize many of you might have the will to come, but just not the ability to get there, In that case, feel free to send him an encouraging message. He would love that just as much!

🏀 THROWBACK THURSDAY 🏀
Summer basketball started for the girls' program this week, so Coach Biedenbender had his first practice in the Storm Field House. It seemed only fitting to do a throwback to his earlier coaching days at MVL. While the view this year will be different from his days in the old gym, at the heart of it will still be that Charger grit.

There were so many responses about FRIENDS and the community at MVL that we will need two posts to share their thoughts. 🙂
