🚨 IMPORTANT NTPS SAFETY NOTICE 🚨

NTPS Parents, Students, and Staff

Effective Tuesday, September 30, 2026

Due to a recent incident in our community, additional safety protocols will be implemented until further notice to help ensure a safe environment for all students and staff.

Please review the following:

🔹 Bus Students: Students who ride school buses will go directly into the school building upon arrival. Bus students will not assemble off campus or go downtown prior to the start of the school day.

🔹 Metal Detectors: All students and staff will go through metal detectors when entering the Middle School and High School buildings.

🔹 Middle School Entrance: Until 8:30 a.m., Middle School students must enter through the cafeteria entrance. The regular Middle School entrance will not be available until 8:30 a.m. This ensures that students entering the building go through the metal detector.

🔹 Increased Law Enforcement Presence: There will be an increased law enforcement presence in all school buildings and on school grounds.

🔹 High School Student Vehicle Access: High School students will not be allowed to go to their vehicles in the parking lot during the school day between classes without an es**rt.

🔹 No Open Campus: There will be no open campus during lunch for students in grades 9–12 until further notice.

🔹 No After-School Tutoring: There will be no after-school tutoring sessions at the Middle School or High School on Tuesday, September 30.

🔹 Counseling Services: Counseling services will be available in the school buildings to provide support and assistance to students and staff.

📢 PARENT ACTION REMINDER

Parents and guardians, please review these temporary safety protocols with your students before they arrive at school on Tuesday. Please remind students to follow all entrance, movement, parking, and lunch procedures and to cooperate with staff and law enforcement as these measures are implemented.

If your student has questions or concerns, please encourage them to speak with a school staff member or counselor.

We appreciate your cooperation, patience, and understanding as we take these additional steps to help keep our students and staff safe.

A Safe Space to Talk 🙏🏽

In light of the recent loss in our community, we want to invite New Town students, families, and community members to join us for a two-day counseling and therapy event at Northern Lights Wellness Center on Sunday, September 27, and Monday, September 28. This will be a welcoming and confidential space to talk, process, ask questions, or simply be heard, with both group sessions and one-on-one counseling available. Whether you’re experiencing grief, anxiety, stress, fear, anger, or simply need someone to talk to, you are welcome. You don’t have to navigate this difficult time alone. Come as you are, and know that there are people in our community ready to listen and support you.

💜

We are stronger together.

Prayers to the Bearstail family!!! Vida was one our fierce advocates many years ago. She helped and supported so many women and children during her time with us. After she moved on to new opportunities she was still always so supportive to our program and mission. She will be greatly missed.
